Just a heads up that DirecTV and VS network couldnt come to terms, so DirecTV will no longer carry the VS network. This means that the great Dakar coverage that VS is known for each day, will only be shown on cable and Dish Network( I think )

LOL!
Most importantly versus carries live coverage of the Tour de France. I have comcast, I hate their rates, but there are less reasons to leave them now.
NO MORE PBR FOR YOU DIRECT SATELLITE PEOPLE THAT IS 80% OF VS PROGRAMMING.
I HAVE TIME WARNER AND CATCH A USC FOOTBALL GAME ON THERE A COUPLE OF TIMES A SEASON.
THE IRL PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE PISSED.
Complete BS. So much for watching IRL, just as the racing was getting better too!

Two companies in a pissing match end up hurting their customer. Gee thanks...
my guess it will be back on soon.....better be lots of hockey action on VS.
I'm going to miss the Tour de France.
I got Dish and VS is free now so I am happy.
SCREW Comcast
My Directv/Versus question got answered by Robin Miller on speedtv.com. I would never switch from directv, probably JR Nation as well because Directv always has 4 extra NASCAR in-car channels with radio and usually JR is one of them just about every week! LOL!
I bet we see it back. I worked for cable and satellite companies and this happens alot. Even a local station got dropped from cable once over money.
Can't see why anyone would want to give up a better HD picture and switch to Dish who compresses everything to the point of distortion.
Comcast has a history of doing this kind of thing and it's getting old, IMO. Maybe the cable business isn't doing too well or something.

I LOL'd when someone said DISH "devalued" Versus by putting it on a lower tier. It's on the Classic Gold 250 which is 2nd from the top out of their 6 packages. They also charge $10 more a month to get it in HD. http://www.dishnetwork.com/packages/programming/

And as far as HD compression, there's only one satellite company that was nicknamed "HD Lite" in the industry as recently as late last year due to their high compression & lack of HD satellites and it WAS NOT Dish Network.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm sick of people putting down Dish Network just because it's cheaper. Just say that Dish & DirecTV each have different advantages and leave it at that. Sheesh.
i actually like dish over directv and i have neither of them since i'm with timewarner. a friend has directv and sister has dish and just enjoy hers more and also like that it has sirus/xm stations up in the 6000's i think!

I don't watch versus that much, but it would suck not to have it. They have excellent coverage of the tour de france and other markets they show!
