a top 25 at Richmond with Gilligan would be great!
Couldn't hurt! ;)
Only if it's a realistic audition for a full-time 2nd RGM team for next year. Or if Robby has an off-road race to drive in. Otherwise Robby should stay in the drivers seat.
The only realistic way RGM will add a 2nd team is if a funded team wants to work with RGM. Look at the #47 team, they left the under-funded Wood Bros and worked under MWR. I have to wonder why other teams don't do this. The #78 team will be fully-funded next season. The #71 team would be another good team and the #96 if they keep Ask.com

The thing RGM offers is Toyota.
The 78 & 71 have links with pretty good teams. Although TRD provides good stuff, it's not as good as hendrick or childress (usually).
that would be TRT...TRIAD RACING TECHNOLIGIES...RGM has no ties with TRD any lomger
Nothing against David, but his resume pretty much is highlighted by a Nationwide win a few years ago and nothing else. I don't think his qualifying ability yesterday says anything about the car, the owner, or the normal driver. Robby typically would have qualified anywhere between 25th and 35th. I'd say we've learned nothing so far.

Good Job Tonight Gilliland!!
Well, at least we know Gilly is luckier than RG... was it 2 free passes or 3?
that would be 3.
I thought everyone went as good as it could have last night. Communication was good between Doug, Kirk, and David. They finished 24th with a, as David & Kirk put it, 'a 24th place car.' While I would certainly prefer Robby in the car, I can't say that I was disappointed with last night's race. I'm curious how Jim Beam felt about it.
Jim Beam is getting a freebie as it were. At Talladega, the 7 was scheduled to be an unsponsored race, so
Rob is going to put Jim Beam on the hood as a "make-up" for him not driving the car at Richmond.
