New crew chief for Robby in 2010?: hearing that Robby Gordon's current crew chief, Kirk Almquist, will leave the team at the end of the 2009 season, supposedly to retire and head back to California.(9-19-2009)

Just wanted to say that I didnt mean to cause a major ruckus here today, I just saw the posts on Jayski early this morning and thought some of you would like to see them. I totally support RG and RGM, and wish nothing but the best for them. I have been following RG since he started Indy Cars and I dont want to stop anytime soon. Peace Out!

Well, we're screwed.
Lance, seriously, comings and goings are part of the business, always have been, always will be. The only person you should worry about "retiring" is Robby Gordon.
Exactly- but it's a little worrisome that Robby goes through CCs at a pace unequaled anywhere in motorsports. I don't know a lot about racing, but I find it rather confusing to see Robby doing something that seems so abnormal in the nascar environment.
If Kirk were being fired, or quitting to go to another team then I might share your concerns somewhat. But if he's retiring to go back to California, then it looks like a personal decision on Kirk's part, and not an indication of things going wrong at RGM.
I really like Doug a lot!!!! He's really good!
being sarcastic....though I am worried about the Beam loss.
that sponsor issue is worrying me more than the CC issue right now.
Doug ready and waiting.
Just waiting on that phone call. lol
Why hire a crew chief? Robby tells them each and every week what to do and how much? Save the money and put it towards some more speed!!!!!!!!!!
If things weren't well at RGM, Kirk wouldn't wait until the end of the season to leave.
Uh, he IS..re-read the article.
