Per Jayski:

UPDATE: Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc., maker of Jim Beam Bourbon, the world's number one-selling Bourbon, announced that its marketing plans for 2010 will not include a return to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. As a result, the company will not extend its current partnership with Robby Gordon Motorsports in 2010. The company plans to focus its marketing resources for Jim Beam into other platforms that directly impact the end consumer. "It was a difficult decision to transition away from being a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team sponsor," said Bill Newlands, president Beam Global Spirits & Wine U.S. "We always take a hard look at our marketing resources and how we can best interact with legal purchase age consumers. After an extensive review of our marketing strategy, we have come up with new alternatives to fuel growth for Jim Beam in 2010." Jim Beam will continue its support of #7-Robby Gordon Motorsports for the remainder of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup series schedule."Jim Beam has been a great partner for the past five years," said Robby Gordon. "I would like to thank them for their support through the years. They have been with me since we started the team in 2005, helping build our Cup team and aiding in its success. Great relationships have been formed, and I expect those to continue well into the future

Hopefully Robby can land the greygoose sponsorship. It'd mix much better with Monster.

I guess there are too many beer drinkers at NASCAR races, though we became Jim Beam Black converts as a result of the sponsorship!

Maybe the dairy industry would sponsor the car - then we could finally have the Spotted Cow car :-))) not to mention the cheese, yogurt, and various ice cream paint themes.
I like SPOT, but how about Garmin or TOM TOM. Ben and Jerry's also work.

Remember a couple of months ago there was a post about Robby cancelling his orders for some 2009 Beam Toyota COT diecasts. Do you think that it was handwritting on the wall that Beam was going?
I'd take any sponsor at this point. As long as the car is covered with a name, I'm happy
Here's an interesting article I came accross that is germain to this topic of conversation:

http://www.examiner.com/x-2149-Atlanta-NASCAR-Examiner~y2009m9d22-S...

One thing is for sure, over the years the cost of a sponsorship has risen while the economy has fallen. Full sponsorship of a team is still rising and this is scaring away any potential sponsors. The true problem for RGM and any other non-"super teams" is that sponsors like Jack Daniels and Kelloggs are going away and opening the door for new sponsors to put their name on a title contender's car. This does not bode well for RGM.

Not that I think Robby will limit his schedule, become a start and park, or shut down as indicated in this article, but it could be a rough year next year.
One thing you have to give Robby credit for is finding sponsors. He always seems to find great or new companies to come on board. Cant sau that about a lot of other teams.
One thing the short memory folks who write all these great... scratch that, these articles of primative knowledge and shallow insight fail to point out, the opening of the door for these hard drinks was granted almost in part by Roush lobbying for the need for sponsorship money in the first place.
sigh...my hero....
remember when Harrahs pulled sponsorship from Robby after being bought out, he is still running all the races and found sponsors for several of those races, Robby will be fine next year.
come on monster step up to the plate and sponsor robby we gotta beat red bull and make the chase next yr
they already did step up and sponsor RG just not in the series you would like
ya, wtf ever.
Monster just doesn't see fit to sponsor RG in the 7, period.
When Ricky makes his slow transition upward, you watch & see.
My money says Monster stays with the GOAT...& thats all the $$$ they'll put into nascar.
love it, hate it....whatever
They have Robby's back in the dirt, not on the ovals
Isnt that why Fruit of the Loom was no longer a sponsor in 05? They couldnt pay their checks?
