THERE IS SOMETIMES EQUIPMENT IN THE YARD OUT FRONT BUT NOT MUCH TO SEE. I DID SEE THE CREW AT EL POLLO LOCO ONE DAY.
I WORK JUST RIGHT DOWN THE STREET.
What insight can we gleam from the "Silk Way" Rally that can be applied to the 2010 Dakar in South America? About the only thing a cursory glance from me can provide is that VW mopped the floor with the competition in the car dvision. Where's BMW? Mitsu not super competitive. How about that Nissan? Are these the teams which will show up in South America? Alot big names not there (other than VW). What do we know?
Nasser Allahteah (Spelling) has moved to VW. He was leading the Silk way, but wrecked it 1 day from the finish and King Carlos took the win. On a more exciting note, channel HDT with is a part of my HDTV package from Comcast will be showing this years WRC recaps starting 8.00pm this Sunday. Really missed WRC coverage since Speed dropped them, now to have it HD sound and picture is quite exciting.
With hardly any factory enteries, they will most problably enter as privateers. They should not have much toruble finidng sponsorship for a single car operation.Only time will tell what is their pace without a factory machine, they will be a whole lot slower know that car cannot be rebuilt every night, something they were used to. I know that Alphand had a bad crash in June and had to have spinal surgery and is not fit enough to drive yet.
