Jayski is reporting that Bobby Labonte visited Robby's shop last week. Friendly visit or full time second team in the near future?

Bobby is a good guy, however in RGM equipment he will be a 30th+ place team like Robby. Nascar just sucks since it is HMS, RMS & JGR claiming all the trophies these years.
Doesn't Robby build offroad vehicles for people on the side?
Bobby might have been there for something like that.
Just another possibility to consider.
No RG does not build off-road race cars for customers. He has built a class 1 car for Cam Theriot and the sister TT for Chet Huffman which is now owned by The McMillins, and just sits in the shop as it is for sale. Also the Class 1 car of Cam's was bought back by RG and that was the base for the first Dakar Hummer. RG said he would no longer build trucks for customers. All the other RG TT's currently racing were previously owned and race by Robby.
I meant offroad vehicles for fun.
Dunebuggies etc...
What did he build for Jeff, I didn't know about that.
No one's mentioned Labote's history with Gibbs....maybe there's an hendrick-stewart arrangement bewteen RGM & JGR in the future? Surely the guys at JGR are aware of how successful the HMS-SHR has been.
It's a huge stretch, no arguements there.
I sure hope not and highly doubt it..we saw what happened last year with hall of fame and their deal with gibbs.
Mystery might be solved, could Labonte be filling in for Robby at Homestead? With Robby running off road to lock up a championship. Labonte could be filling in for Robby, came by to get fitted for the seat and work out any contract details. Jim Beam would be the sponsor.

EriK Darnell is scheduled to be in the #96 and Gilliland will be in the #71 ???

Just a thought.....
Isnt Homestead on a Sunday? The 1000 should be on a Friday. Beings the Baja 1000 is 600 and something mile Robby would have plenty of time to get there. I am not discounting your thought though.
Score sites says Nov 19-22...I'm sure SCORE would want Robby there to crown him his Championship. Festivites, etc.

Just saying...even if Bobby is just practicing & qualifying the car you have to get details worked out. Robby might let Bobby run the whole weekend and allow him to focus on the SCORE Championship. I'm sure Robby has a plan, just odd that Erik is scheduled to race the #96 that weekend and Gilliland in the #71... usually these things add up pretty quick.

I would love to see Bobby and RGM hook up, don't get me wrong! Just a little obvious that weekend Robby will need help.
This has been rehashed several times. TOG was adamant that RG WILL race Homestead. It's the last race for Jim Beam, not sure they would be quite as cooperative as they were in Richmond. Someone posted the schedule for the 1000 in an earlier discussion and while the event runs through the 22nd Robby's class will finish the evening before.

That said, Bobby has won at Homestead!
