Outta the Mouth of Bobby Labonte

HOMESTEAD FL: So I see Bobby at an event appearance last night and decided I would get right to the heart of story...

ME:: Hey Bobby, good to see you have a ride for next season.
BOBBY: Thanks
ME: So what's the scoop on your visit to Robby's shop? What were you doing there?
BOBBY: Just looking around
ME: So you won't be driving a second car for him?
BOBBY: Nope
HUBBY: You won't be driving one of those wild trucks and play in the desert?
BOBBY: (emphatically) NO WAY!!!

So there you have it folks, straight from the horse's mouth. And we still don't know anything we didn't already know before this reporter got the inside scoop. Except that Bobby doesn't have the kahunas to do what our hero does. But guess we already knew that too.

BAM Racing has sponsorship for a full season in place...looking for a crew chief & driver. Love to see them hire david Gilliland, move into Robby's shop and work together like Ambrose's team does with MWR. Probably a stretch here, but dang that would help everyone!

Now that he is locked up with TRG I wouldn't expect him to talk about RGM too much.

I knew quite well no 2nd team, just as I knew he wouldn't give an inside scoop to some fan standing in line. But I had to at least see his reaction to my question. Poor guy looked so lonely.... Dale and Ned Jarrett were in a booth nearby with a line that stretched further than the eye could see. Nobody at all in Bobby's vicinity other than his security guy. Saw Bobby Allison too but couldn't get close to him either.

The only way Bobby would be interested in driving for RGM would be if they had David Gilliland in a second car and he would show it can race.Then Bobby would be ready to jump in and take over.Did you notice he only signed a one year contract with TRG,and only after McMurray secured the ride with Ganassi.
