Just thinking out loud.......If Robby can finish in top 5 in Nationwide, maybe that would help get the sponsorship back in 2011 to get back into Sprint.......The money will be back in a couple of years.....

I personally would like to see him team up with Smoke and his team........Seeing Tony and Robby together would be awesome for the sport.......

Just don't use Fords cause then you know you're getting 5 to 20 less hp than the Roush cars. I think that RGM and EGR would be a good set up. Joe Gibbs cant take Robby and Kyle on at the same time. Too much paitence needed, so that leaves out a good Toyota team.
Besides if he was going too step down a notch full time, why not go too Trans Am where he has a title? One which he won while driving for Roush in Fords. Nope still wasn't a Gibbs in that picture either. Paitence though brings miracles.
Something else I was wondering was what if he let someone else drive his cars while he did some more building? Robby isn't dumb, you can't get too his place in life by being dumb or knuckleheaded. So I do believe, he has the ability to put together a team that is capable of winning multiple races a season. Only if he gets the right people to do the work. Now that is hard to do from the drivers seat. Maybe its time he lets someone else do the driving while he builds the team. Then he can come back as a driver.
Definitely NOT true. Did you happen to watch the Phoenix race? Allmendinger seemed to be running better than the Roush Fords in his Ford. Sadler looked to have a strong motor at Talladega as well.

Robby hasn't complained about motors since the move to Triad, but has he really been running any better as a result? I don't think so. He actually finished a little higher in the points the year he ran Fords.
Someone with real facts. NICE... You can tell when there is a manufacture hater on here.
I thought it was 2003
And that interview is right here.

he wants to race the best and its sucks to say nascar has the best
I know Robby won't do it, but I wish he would merge his team with an operation like RCR or EGR, details can be worked out to have full control over his team, but not having information to share and more resources to pull from makes it a tough hill to climb. RGM has survived for 5 years in a tough series, with tough financial challenges. You have to give he credit.
Doesn't work that way. Sorry. Look at several successful team over the past few seasons who have LOST sponsors. The 21 lost Reese's and then Autozone the year after they won the championship. That team no longer runs. The 2 team lost BBT to the 33 Cup team and had to shut down. As recently as 2008, the 18 Gibbs car was not a full time team due to losing sponsoship and the 20 JGR team lost Rockwell Automation. The 11 team lost the Incredible Pizza Co. despite running well all year. Sponsors want exposure which they get in Sprint Cup racing.
Winning isn't everything - Kelloggs is leaving Mark Martin and will be sponsoring Carl Edwards' cup car for 2010. Guess it is better to see Carl on the cereal box first thing in the a.m. than Mark? Charisma goes a long way, too. I would not like to see Robby race full time in the NW series - even though it seems many of these races have a lot of cup drivers in them, I feel this should be the exception and not the rule. I cannot imagine how the funding for the NW teams works. The race pay off is small, the attendance is paltry at most of the races, and yet it still costs an arm and a leg to field a car week in week out.

Assuming Robby wants to continue as a team owner, this armchair race consultant would recommend bringing in another driver and running another car. It would be important to bring in a driver who is potentially marketable (someone sponsors would like) as well as talent to build up RGM for the future. There are a lot of OK drivers out there that really need a ride, but I like Matt Crafton the best. While he is a truck guy - he drives with determination race after race, is articulate and pleasant, and would look nice on a cereal box ;-) I think Robby should also consider merging with another team (but that is tricky in that the ones available aren't all that great) or establish a partnership (a la Stewart/Haas-Hendrick) that would be beneficial to both entities but still leave Robby as an owner.
p.s to above:

How about looking at the Canadian Tire Series for some 'new' talent (I know -- they are Canadians, but... ;-) I was impressed with what I saw of Andrew Ranger. Though I think he is a bit feisty.
it's a good quality racing series.
Stop teasing,There are tons of Super Late Model driver across the country (USA) with alot of talent,Canadian Tire cars are bad limited late models at best. Hell I even qualify faster at Vernon than their lap record.
