Former RGM Driver Brian Ickler to drive for Kyle Busch Truck team in 2010

Kyle Busch Motorsports announces two full-time teams; possibly a third: In a press conference held live on SPEED, Kyle Busch announced today that he will enter two Toyota Tundras full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series beginning in 2010. Busch will pilot the #18 Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Toyota Tundra whenever the Camping World Truck Series runs in companion with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. For the non-companion races, the #18 Tundra will be driven by 24-year-old Brian Ickler. Running the full schedule for KBM will be 20-year-old Tayler Malsam in the #56 Toyota Tundra. Busch recently purchased the assets of Xpress Motorsports, the Camping World Truck Series team that won in June at Dover International Speedway and finished the 2009 season among the top-10 in points. KBM will operate from the Xpress Motorsports shop in Mooresville, N.C., until its new shop, also in Mooresville and currently under construction, is completed. Overseeing the three-driver, two-Truck outfit will be Rick Ren, who will serve as the team's director of competition. The 52-year-old from Tilton, Ill., is a NASCAR veteran who won two Camping World Truck Series championships as crew chief for Ron Hornaday Jr., (2007 and 2009) while at Kevin Harvick Inc.(Kyle Busch Motorsports PR) [During the interview, Busch also noted that KBM is also trying to pull enough sponsorship together to bring Champion Johnny Benson into the mix and make it a three-truck operation. It was reported earlier this week that talks are underway with Exide Batteries and at least one other sponsor about backing Benson -- see the December Archive Page.]

So, based on your theory, Robby should have sponsors clawing all over each other to be on the #7.
I think it will happen. Kyle loves playing with the NASCAR media regulars. He told Claire B Lang yesterday that there isn't a signed deal yet so he didn't want to say anymore until everything was official.
Thanks Keith . There's nothing like adding some 'old blood' to the 'new' . I believe Kyle knows what he's doing , I'm hoping that he is going to sign JB , I missed watching him race this year .
Him and JB working together is a done deal as far as they and Toyota are concerned. It's that old "SPONSOR" thingy again holding things up.
whatever happend to the ickler TT they were building or built ?
The TT has been for sale. I'm not sure if it has sold. I was told there was an interested buyer, but in this economy big ticket TT's are not big sellers. My understanding is with Brian living in NC and with them focusing on trying to get him a ride (with Kyle's help) they felt they would not be racing off-road any time soon.
ok thanks for the info!
Does AnyBody Have A Picture of Ickler In The # 55 ? If So Could You Post It or Tell Me Where I Can See It .
Thanks !
Three of them here in the photo archive, after he wrecked. Just put "ickler" in the search box.

Thank You !
Robby had 1st dibbs so to speak with Brian and couldn't make it happen. Kyle has made things happen for Brian. It's now up to Brian to prove he is worthy of the opportunity he's given. I hope he does.
Kyle has more money and pull than RG, hate to say it. RG is worried about fielding a team of his own, not a whole lot of time to develop a name in the stock car world on your own dime. There was more to it at PIR than RG just taking a chance, trust me.
