Glenn Wheeler , navigator for #528 of Team Hummer , shares his thoughts

Glenn Wheeler , who is one of the three drivers of the #528 entry for Team Hummer, texted me his thoughts before all of today's opening festivities. Glenn is also riding with Randy Rodriguez, and Frank Schettini, who replaced Will Higman. Glenn Wheeler is fueled with emotion, and unmistakeable passion for this team.

Here are his thoughts today:

" Hummer drivers and navigators are on their way to the park ferme(impound yard). we went to the driver's meeting this morning around 10:00am, secured everything in the trucks, navigators held a meeting, lunch, naps. Big trucks left around noon.I'm waiting in the lobby for Frank and Randy. As a long time mechanic crew guy( he works for Robby's Cup team ) I am shaking with emotion to start the Dakar as a navigator."

" I think i'm so full of emotion there's not enough space in my body for all of them and their shaking to make more room. Excited fights a hint of fear,to the unknown. Patience fights eagerness to start.Confident of all the time i've spent with the hummers and now my own truck, fights an uneasyness and mind wondering about if a meteorite falls in front of our cars or trucks, would it survive or have mechanical issues ? Assured that with a guy like Robby leading his hummer fleet to victory , TEAM USA is ready to take on the world! "

word for word from my phone textbox, and Glenn wanted me to share this.

Good luck !

Funny having Frank Schettini riding. He is used to riding in Monster Trucks to say the least. He has been building them and racing them for 20 years.
I love watching the trucks run when they show the highlights each day on Versus. Now with Team Hummer fielding a truck it gives me even more reason to look forward to the daily recaps. Good luck to the #528 truck and all of Team Gordon/Hummer/America.
This is the last year for this truck. They are going to build a Frieghtliner for next year. This truck is tired.
I work with Glen..you will never find a more passionate individual to be in his position. I have spoke with him about this several weeks ago and he is ready for anything that comes his way.....Glen.we are with you bud.........keep the faith and roll on........................
glenn has sent more updates.I will get them out to you all soon.
When I was living with Glenn he was learning how to speak french in order to get a jump on the rally competition. I wonder if he ever completed it? lol.

Glad to hear Glenn is in on the action.
The #528 truck has started stage 1 of the Dakar Rally . Final results for them will be shown after the completion of todays stage.
Looks like #528 has finished Stage 1.
