Good-bye rear wing ! Back to the spoiler in 2010
Many Nascar rear-wings will soon hit EBAY, as the series has decided to switch back to the rear spoiler. NASCAR informed teams Friday that it has scheduled an open test at Charlotte Motor Speedway as part of an upcoming transition from a rear wing to a rear spoiler.
The change had been discussed individually with teams, but nothing had been formally announced before the Friday memo to crew chiefs from Cup Series director John Darby.
"To help put some of the rumor mills to rest, I am sending you the following facts as they relate to changes for 2010," Darby wrote in the memo, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. "We will be transitioning from the usage of the current wing to an aluminum spoiler."

Oh Thank Goodness,Yes it was the flying thing(IMO) that killed the wing.The wing was stupid. Now if Na$crap would get rid of the other stupid rule-spitter maximum height.

IMO, the spoiler will cause more problems then it fixes. Remember, the car's body was profiled to work with the Wing. The drivers are saying that the wing helped when you started to yaw from an Aero loose condition to keep you straight. So let's see what they say when they try passing or side by side racing. I think we will see even more single file racing at the Intermediate tracks, more wrecks and more boring racing.

Its going to make the tail, bad loose and light.......then they will have to change the roof line aft of the left pillar to put more aero back in the ass of the cot. Thus planting the left rear. Before we know it the car should be back to the way it was.............Turtle you are right
