It sounds like Robby may not be running the full cup schedule, and that may disappoint alot of Robby's hardcore nascar fans. But what he plans on doing during his "off-weeks" has me absolutely excited. Robby says he is looking hard at running the Indy 500!! That alone would be awesome. But add in running the X-games rally race, building and (hopefully) running a monster truck, and running the Baja 500 & 1000. That is unbelievable. I am definitely looking forward to what 2010 will bring us as Robby Gordon fans, and I think it was worth the wait. What do you think??

It may have been said but Robby is his own brand now. Like a Pastrana or a Jeese James. When Robby says NASCAR will conflict with other dates that is a good thing. BAM keeps the doors open on HIS OWN Cup team and allows Robby to expand his brand. When he spends 90% of his time only exposing himself to NASCAR it shuts doors on his brand. Now he gets exposure to Monster Truck Fans, Rally Fans, Indy Fans, NASCAR fans, Dakar Fans, Off Road Fans.... The whole deal.

Throw in a Grand Canyon jump for the 4th of July and he gets the household name his talent deserves.
I absolutely agree.
The reason AJ Foyt, Mario, the Unsers were so admired, was that they race in several different series.
More markets, bigger branding power.
Wish I could figure a way to brand myself.
Husband-Father-Worker-Taxi dad.
No sponsors
He needs to go for 500'
Wonder if Toyo is going to build tries for the Monster Truck......
Robby said they have to get single digit finishes...Top 5 type finishes. Well, last year's payout at Daytona was strong. The winner walked away with over $1.5 million! 2nd place got over $1.1 million and 3rd through 5th $785,000 - $500,000 range. That type of money allows you to add a few more races to a team like RGM. Winning and getting $1.5 million would allow Robby to really move forward. That's why so much emphasis is being placed on getting a Top 5 finish. Imagine if David & Robby hooked up and finished both in the Top 5. That's the type of shot in the arm both RGM & BAM could really need. Love Monster Energy stepping up, baddest paint scheme on the track. Love the idea of Robby running Indy, getting back to what boosted him into Cup in the first place.

I'm so looking forward to Daytona! Monster Energy at the Daytona 500! Hopefully he runs the same strategy as he did at the last Dega race! Mixing it up & leading the race! We really need to hope David gets the #49 in the Big Show. Having a teammate will be huge this year with bump drafting being allowed again.
That's right Bigzoom... did I mention that I am totally excited about Robby's plans for 2010? I did? Well let me say it again.. I am totally stoked for 2010!!!
I think Robby driving ANYTHING is worth watching--however with the rules in Nascar changing in favor of the drivers it might just be Robby's Game to win!! As far as the Monster trucks go---watch out Monster Jam there will be a new sheriff in town!!! and Indy---He might not be as pretty as Danica but he's faster---as long as he gets a good ride watch him go!!
I'm all about his NASCAR effort but the other racing stuff sounds great too. I hope he really does the X-Games rally. I go to the every year. It would be awesome to see robby run it.
I'm going to enjoy and pull for Robby no matter what he's racing in. And no doubt enjoy the heck out of the show he'll be putting on in whatever he's competing in.
I've attended the Rolex 24 a half dozen times and look forward to it every year to kick off the racing season. After hearing Robby's comments about the 24 hour race, I am not so enthusiastic about the event this year. He raced there 5 times with 4 wins and a 2nd place? Did I hear him right? If that's the case then that race is easy. No wonder someone of his road course talent doesn't participate anymore.
I like everything but the monster truck, but it sounds like something Monster would like to see - so who am I to judge? I like the addition of X-Games and Rally stuff. Sounds to me like someone is studying up for Dakar 2011!!
The thing is, his performance for many of the races last year was, well, second rate at best. Whats the point in even being at the track of you only quallfy mid 30s and dont finish much better ? It would be way better to run races and be competetive and then do stuff like the Indy 500 which I for one would be way stoked about him running.
