Looking at the speeds, its not shocking to hear the RGM cars never saw wind tunnel time.
What irritates me is claiming the car is capable of winning the pole, and that the cars are more F1 than stock car. At this point, the only thing F1 they resemble is USF1...
I think some of you must be new...... Practice times at Daytona mean nothing, nobody on this thread knows what the team was trying to accomplish. They could have been on 20 lap old tires and zero tape and then never gotten into a fast pack. And in regards to the wind tunnel, you only have to send one of your cars, not every car.........

New? Ha!
With a hand fabricated car, especially with the underside aero tricks these teams rely on now, every car behaves differently. Wind tunnel testing will benefit every car it can be done on, obviously cost will prevent this.
Practice times are not that important, but Id rather be at the top (which RGM usually manages at plate tracks) than at the back. Even Robby himself said the car drove fine but just was not fast enough in a tweet today.
A lot of apologists on this board...

Yes it is. I will be looking forward to it. Been spending this week working with a sports car team, its great to be back in racing. (Even if its only for a week)
RGM will be fine, Robby and David will hook up and get David in the show...
Norm Benning, Mike Wallace, Cope (wrecked, might be in a back up), Blaney, Boris & Mears were all slow. Bliss will be in a back-up car, Speed & Labonte are already locked in.
Almirola will be David's biggest challenger. The Top 2 Go or Go Homer's make it in. I like David's chances.
I look for David & Almirola to make it into the race.
