Well the agenda for getting the #49 in the big show is over, now all attention should be focused on waking the Monster up! Hopefully we will see more speed out of the #7 car. Looking at the past 2 years at plate tracks, Robby ran slow by himself, but always had a bad-fast ride in the draft.

In 2009 was running 41st & 38th the first 2 practices, then jumped up to 18th, then 5th and 2nd in the final 3 (draft)practices at Daytona. At Dega, Robby turned the fastest lap in practice. In the July Daytona race, was 42nd in single run practice and 20th in drafting practice. In the Fall Dega race, Robby was 7th in the first practice and 20th in the 2nd practice. Robby played the ride-n-back strategy in the first 3 plate races and fell vitim to a crash during his late charges. In the last plate race, Robby lead the race, was up front the majority of the day, but again was caught up in the Big One.

Hopefully Robby can catch a break this year and get the car running up front again. Robby said he brought the best car he's ever had to Daytona this year...well I hope he's right, cause the car at Dega was really good!
I didn't see that fast car today.
Actually it was impressive to see Robby catching the pack by himself today. Do not let the results fool you from today, Robby was hanging around the back trying to get Gilly into the show.
Go get em champ ! it was a q-race. the #49 was a crippled car after smacking the wall, but RG still had no choice but to ride behind him like BJ did to RG at Dakar. Now the focus is on the #7 , 2 practices and the ACTUAL race that counts.
Deep breathes TOG, breathe in, and out. Lol, Actually theres a whole bunch of people on this board that need to CALM down. The season technically hasnt even started yet
lol.. this thread is really for practices & a race that has yet to be run, so really,we need to turn the page. Last I checked, RG is racing on Sunday, and he will race just fine.
gilly was fine, and then he got loose and scrubbed the wall, and spun.that was it, he was a longshot to transfer after that. Contrary to belief, there is still a race to be run.
David, or Gilly, as you mention was racing great until he got loose, corrected it, and then was hit by someone else that couldn't check up in time, which sent him spinning......if not for that, he had a great opportunity to make the show.
Robby went to the rescue, which ment he lost the draft, and tried to help out after that, but the car was too badly damaged to move forward.
New motors for all teams tomorrow.
Shane mentioned....."Hopefully he can get it going Sunday"........Oh, you can count on that!!
