It sounds like Robby may not be running the full cup schedule, and that may disappoint alot of Robby's hardcore nascar fans. But what he plans on doing during his "off-weeks" has me absolutely excited. Robby says he is looking hard at running the Indy 500!! That alone would be awesome. But add in running the X-games rally race, building and (hopefully) running a monster truck, and running the Baja 500 & 1000. That is unbelievable. I am definitely looking forward to what 2010 will bring us as Robby Gordon fans, and I think it was worth the wait. What do you think??

He got more publicity WORLDWIDE! in 2 weeks running the Dakar than he got in a whole year of CUP.
good finishes and runnin up front would take care of that
HE NEEDS TO TAKE TRAVIS PASTRANA OUT
dashmn:

We met some Robby fans at Daytona who were from Holland. They said Robby was a hero in Holland and they wanted to buy our Monster shirts !!! They were desperately hunting for some Robby gear! They, like most of the other fans he has across the world, admire him for his off-road racing and not NASCAR. On an international scale, NASCAR is not all that.
Funny, I had fan from holland email he during the dakar, asking for Monster gear.
We have the actual stats to back up the popularity of RG in other countries
Bumpity bump bump!

So yeah......

Um.....anything official on those x-games yet?
They got the X ?
Yea seriously,

The year starts with ambitions to run rally cars, monster trucks, the indy 500, etc.

So far we have seen a cup team struggling to stay ahead of FRM, Indy plans canceled, not a mention of any rally, and a few videos of a semi-finished monster truck testing.

To be honest, all I was looking forward to was a possible Indy 500 entry and rally. As TOG has stated though, plans change.
There are many factors but I wont go into them all, but I will say, did you ever stop to think that maybe money that was going to be allocated to the 'extra' events now might be going into the 'already established' programs like Dakar ,etc, to compensate for the loss of Hummer, Vanguard, etc? Monster - " Hey Robby, Dakar is very important to us & I know Hummer is no more, so instead of doing Indy, lets allocate those funds into solidifying your 2011 Dakar expenses. "

Now I know none of the members here have never had something suddenly come up in their lives, that put a speedbump in their plans ( think car troubles, job loss, helping a relative/friend, death, etc ) so I can understand the frustration .

All those extra events were EXTRA . Last I checked he is still racing each week, regardless of the points position & struggles. It's not like he sat out a race & then that 'extra' event didn't happen.

Funny, some of the people hating on the Monster Truck deal when announced, were praising it when the test videos came out and 'couldn't wait' to see it race.
