Robby Gordon Martinsville Preview

Charlotte, NC (March 25, 2010) – The No. 7 Warner Music Nashville / Blake Shelton Camry speeds into Martinsville Speedway this weekend with high hopes after recording a season-best finish of 22nd at Bristol Motor Speedway last week. After an unlucky start to the 2010 season, the team looks forward to the challenge of recording another strong finish at the 0.526-mile short track to obtain a spot within the top-35 Sprint Cup Series owners’ points.

Robby’s Thoughts – “Martinsville Speedway is different from any other track on the Sprint Cup circuit,” commented Gordon. “Its tight corners and flat banking present a whole different set of challenges from every other short track that we visit. Not only is it a tough track on the driver, but it’s also hard on equipment. I’m confident in my team’s ability, and I’m sure that they built the Warner Music Nashville / Blake Shelton Toyota Camry to the challenges of Martinsville.”

100% wrong,WOW.Last week Robby practiced alot for Robby. They where fastest (for RG) off the truck, they spent all day Saturday proving what didn't work.
Sorry Sam if the car does'nt have THE feel, theres no sence in wearing shit out.It takes time to make changes and only X amont of time.
I know when I practice,I don't run alot of laps.If the cars not right, running more laps won't make it right.Constructive changes makes it right (driver's feel)
100% wrong - sounds like my X
If Robby had a billion dollars to piss away he'd have a test team. But remember you don't get to test anywhere with Goodyear tire's (except authorized tests,we've already covered that conspiracy) so there is that variable.

What?
I've felt and stated for along time,Robby needs a test team. But what the hell does that have to do with running every lap of practice?Changes take time, there is NO sence in practicing every lap of practice if the car is'nt right!
If Robby had a billon dollars he wouldn't be driving Taxis in Circles.
of course it "looked" like he ran a lot of laps in practice last week..it was a 1/2 mile short track!

I highly doubt Jeff Gordon goes around with a car to "test" at non nascar tracks.
I think I shot a slew of videos from Dover last year showcasing just how long all the changes do take.
apparently some folks think you snap your fingers and miracles happen or they've NEVER had to make these changes
What makes me laugh is when they do that 'thru the field' thing on TV and they report on how teams are doing and how the driver feels his race is going and stuff. More times than I can remember, drivers that are running like 7th to 15th complain thet they have issues and the car won't turn and stuff yet they can still hold down good race positions! Imagine how bad the #7 must be when he's complaining but can't get any higher than 30th. These top teams have no idea !!!!
My 2 cents..of course money buy sspeed....and the more track/test time you have the faster you will be...

The REAL discussion is the diminishing returns on each dollar spent.....Teams like Hendrick, et al spend a TON of money just to find that tenth....hel even that half a tenth, where I imagine a team like RGM needs to spend the money for the basics and a few extras just to be in the same area cod as a major team. It wouldn't be penny wise to do that....now give him abillion dollars..well I still say the economies of scale would rule and a multi car conglomorate would see better gains with the same amount of money...

As for test teams..all David Green did from 2006-2007 was drive COTs at various tracks for Hendrick Motorsports...so yes people are right Jeff isn't testing...they pay someone to exclusvely do that...lol
ha ha. Purposely torch it sounds a little too much but you never know. I think it's good that it blew up now. He wouldn't have gotten very far. Just hopefully everything else is good to go.
look at it this way, it blew up now, not during the race, where is the positive about that, why the hell is everybody so damn negative about this. Its Robby, when havent you seen him rebound from the knock downs, he is the best overall, somebody please agree with me, really !
AGREED 100% Bryan!
