I'm all for raining out qualifying, but I don't want anyone there in danger if it gets as bad as people are predicting.

Even though RG SHOULD be able to qualify without issue, I'll take starting 38th-40th and be just fine. He's going to run there anyway for a while, so this would save him the trouble of getting out of the way of a bunch of cars at the start.
RG will be fine quals are not.....The fans at the track better hope they get to the tunnel fast be cause we all know what happens to trailor parks in a storm......Good luck to RG and to anyone who is there be safe because hero's come and go but family is only their once.............
That weather system is stretching as far north into Bowling Green, and its supposed to bring a lot of rain.
qualifying often seems to get rained out when Robby is outside the owner points. That is the only good luck he gets. I think he can make the race anyway.
Any chance RG can stay out and lead a lap under caution just in case he never drives into 1st under green? I thought he did early at Phoenix, but I guess he didn't. With the top 35 race so close that's been the difference!
It would have been big if he could have led a few times. I agree though, the top 35 hasn't been this close as far as I can remember. A handful of points seperates 5 teams. Any one of them could move in and out each week. It's looked after Robby since 2006 but it could burn him this year. Hope not.
do we have a weather report yet?
National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 2 pm. I hope everyone at the track has made emergency plans, and are ready to act fast.
Per Jim Hunter: Due to weather all of today's NASCAR activities are postponed until tomorrow.

Sucks for everyone who went to the track this morning, or are still on their way there now. They should have made this call yesterday.
From Twitter:

DNewtonespn: Media center will remain open through the night for people in driver-owner lot who may need to seek shelter. #nascar

What about the fans camping in the infield?
was watching weather channel and Tuscaloosa, AL and 50 mile surrounding area was given a 8 out of 10 for a tornado today.

Alan, I am also thinking of all those campers at the track, wonder what Lynch has planned for them.
