“We’re going to do everything we can [to race],” Gordon said Friday
at Dover International Speedway. “If I was to miss races, they would be
the weakest races [to get sponsorship] NASCAR has. Our goal is to race,
and that’s what I desire to do. We’re going to continue to do that until
it becomes financially not possible to do that.”

Gordon wouldn’t pinpoint a specific race where he might have to stay home. He said he would not start-and-park.

“We’re still trying to sell races,” Gordon said. “We’re going to run until we can’t run. That’s the best answer I can give.”

Gordon does have commitments for some off-road events. During the race at Pocono in June, Gordon will miss track activity Friday and Saturday so he can run the Baja 500. Michael Waltrip will
practice and qualify the car for him, Gordon said.

Not a big Mikey fan, but have to admit that sponsors love him. Having Mikey getting air time and love from DW won't hurt RGM at all with companies looking at entry level opportunities.

This might explain why DW has been saying nice things lately at Robby...
I can't wrap my head around this one. Pj wasn't available? There might be more behind this than we know at this point. Just my opinion. To clarify, I don't even have any strong feelings about Waltrip either way, my issue is you cannot convince me this is the best option out there.

This is either completely for publicity, or there is other future plans. Too high profile just for a "convinient sub."
1) RGM Car chief/spotter Jason Overstreet is an ex-MWR employee. He gets to work with a driver he knows the ins & outs with. Automatic comfort zone with the 2 day driver.

2) Mikey is already going to be there.

3) Mike will talk it up all week, plus during the telecast for SPEED. Good exposure for Robby's BAJA deal, because MW will talk about Robby being in Baja.

Its a win/win.
ding! winner! you get the prize tog! the prize=more people asking why this is a good idea. lol.

the only real question i have is how will mikey fit in robby's seat?

sorry, still have lots of jim beam black that i go through. haha.

but all 3 points are dead on. and a good move by robby. publicity will be great from mikey on tv, especially if robby wins baja.
Shit there goes three of the five FAQ
There might be 10 FAQ for this weekend.
Yea, like maybe Toyota is going to pony up for some off-road stuff now that Hummer is out. And since Yota is writing the checks, he does what they want!
Great stratigic move. His car is on the pole this weekend so MWR's understanding of the Toyota chassis does not dissapoint. Life as a lone wolf is easier said than done. Five years ago is just that, the past. Bring the positive publicity! Arch rivals unite.
excuse me for posting druunk but...

if mikey help out robby.... A GOOD THING!!!!

people like mikey and robby

robby needs all help he can get.... even from hannible lecter or freddy krueger
is this really good thing?

somebody tell me

before I pass out of ddrinking..
It can't hurt, he has more cup experience than PJ Jones, plus Mikey has all those TV connections that sponsors like, and is the owner of a successful cup series operation
too early to tell it depends on how far it goes.....if its a one off thing take it as that.
