“We’re going to do everything we can [to race],” Gordon said Friday
at Dover International Speedway. “If I was to miss races, they would be
the weakest races [to get sponsorship] NASCAR has. Our goal is to race,
and that’s what I desire to do. We’re going to continue to do that until
it becomes financially not possible to do that.”

Gordon wouldn’t pinpoint a specific race where he might have to stay home. He said he would not start-and-park.

“We’re still trying to sell races,” Gordon said. “We’re going to run until we can’t run. That’s the best answer I can give.”

Gordon does have commitments for some off-road events. During the race at Pocono in June, Gordon will miss track activity Friday and Saturday so he can run the Baja 500. Michael Waltrip will
practice and qualify the car for him, Gordon said.

OK, here a serious question: How are they going to fit 6'5 Michael Waltrip into, uh, not 6'5 Robby Gordon's seat?
Was wondering that same thing - Maybe Rob will simply use a booster seat for Sunday - What would that be worth - 25 points or 50?
Far fetched guess... this is Pocono, where Robby never runs good at, and has also mentioned that he cannot get a sponsor to buy the weekend. It essentially is a throw away weekend. MW is probably bringing sponsorship to the #7 and will run the #7 for the whole weekend.
Seat inserts... The basic seats are now all the same and each driver has a custom insert made that can move from car to car.
Even with the length of the driver's legs? That was more the issue I was thinking about. Would the seat not have to move backward or forward?
I think he would walk away with the money if he could get another rid like he had at RCR
I don't see how he couldn't. Stewart/Haas has two half-sponsored cars for next season. DuPont might cut way back on the 24. The 5 is running without sponsorship in a few races this year. The 29 is looking. RCR just shut down a team that made the Chase twice.

If these guys can't put something on the cars every week, how on earth is RG supposed to do it? RG enjoys RACING. What he's doing most weekends doesn't count as racing; it's riding. I just don't see him paying to ride out if his own pocket forever.

That's a very old story I know, but it's one we keep coming back to.
Well back the Penske thing.... Penske has the #2 , #22 (change from the #12 next year) and #77. Adding the #7 to that group would be a good fit. Any rumors of Penske leaving Dodge next year.

Yes, incredibly far fetched and not quite believable since Robby has already expressed that he does not want to drive for anyone else in NASCAR outside of RGM. Many believe that RG will be competetive if he went to another team and left his shop behind, but that is not what RG wants to do. Oddly enough he is happier with being barely in the top 35 with his own team that running for someone else. That's my impression.
And I think you are right, but is he going to be happy running 25 races a year, if it comes to that? And let's not forget, he tried to merge with GEM two years ago. That tells me that while he would rather do his own thing, being competitve and earning some money means something as well.

Penske would be awesome, especially if they move the start time of the Indy 500.

With all the focus on RG and MW, I think we forgot a couple of other aspects if RG were to do a deal with MWR: Martin Truex and Marcos Ambrose. Now I know RG and Ambrose pubically made up after Montreal, but I think Truex is on record as hating RG's guts. Which is a shame, because I otherwise like Truex.
Now why would anybody hate RG guts, don't make sense.
Not a bit. If anyone should be cross with RG in the whole garage, you would think it would be Ambrose.
Michael Waltrip will practice and qualify the car for him, Gordon said. WTF?!

Is that a true statement or a BS one?

I can not see Robby asking POS to do anything for him with the exception of drop dead or eat shit.

I hear Jeremy mayfield is looking for a ride, he would take any amount of money these days. If he can pass the drug test.
