PJ is a fine driver and Robby would not put him in there unless he knew it was a sure thing for the team.We will win Baja and then get out of pocono with a top 25 and move on. That will be our goals and we will obtain them.
The risk is not worth the reword, chances are PJ might not make the race due to the lack of seat time. The times are so close that the drivers who race or try to race cup weekly have a much better chance even if they are underfunded. I know that Robby and PJ have been friends forever, but this is business and the future of the cup team. I want PJ to make the race and Robby to win the Baja 500 but the odds are against them. I have been nurfed, eaten dust and ducked rock from Robby for years but he has worked too hard building the cup team to risk losing it now.
I have my own things to worry about , I don't have the time or energy to worry about what Robby is or isn't doing . I would hope that by now people know that he will do what he feels is right for him .
Of course you all know this is why we are RG fans, because he does it his way, and don't take the safe way out. Robby will always be Robby, It's nothing anyone can do. Just ask Gene.
I think the coach might have called the signal in & they know the communication between the crew & driver has to be clear,so chalk this one up to RG & Gene working together. Both PJ and Ted have their pros and cons, but no question Teds resume at Pocono is pretty decent.
