Knew this was going to happen
We werent asking him to pull off a miracle. He just had no idea how to drive a Car of Tomorrow,
odds were stacked against him to pull it off
Thats what single car teams do!!! Which is nothing so maybe this will wake Robby up ... What a joke!!!!!.. Its sad to watch Robby struggle...I wont have to waste my time watching the race....
so we hope
Not surprising, but sad none-the-less. Still wish they could find a good young driver to hire part time to practice, qualify, provide info to the shop, and even sub for Robby on those occasions he drives other places. RGM will not keep going in NASCAR to any meaningful extent the way it is. If that is how Robby likes it, fine, but it makes no logical sense the way it is currently being managed with no defense in depth or contingency planning. This was a hugely important qualifying for them and to miss on so many cylinders is indicative of either some serious problems or this is how they plan to approach it in the future, focusing on a few races here and there where they have a decent chance of a good finish. I know it isn't all gloom and doom - and I don't have a problem with Robby running a part-time schedule in NASCAR, if the team comes fully prepared to kick butt on those races they do run. Win the Baja 500 for us Robby!! Oh well, guess I will have to root for Jeff in Pocono. Go 24!
Don't blame anyone but Robby on this one. The cars are so bad that we got beat out by a 61 year old in a start in park who hadn't raced in YEARS. Robby didn't care enough to be in Pocono so who cares. Robby will probably win Baja and no one will care because at this point, it's like Kyle Busch winning a Nationwide race. What does Robby have left to prove in off-road? NOTHING. He has a hell of a lot to prove in Sprint Cup.
This has been a long time coming. The rain has put the car in more races this year than speed. The only luck they have had all year is rain and that didn't happen this weekend. No chance of getting back in the top 35 this year now. Wont be shocked if they miss MIS next week or Sonoma.
Doesn't average a top ten starting position at Sonoma, and last year they were 22nd. I would expect RG would have to approach qualifying fairly conservative to prevent doing the same thing Scott Speed did, but that will put him deep in the field going against a better group of Go Or Go Home drivers than normal (road course specialists).....

Should be interesting!
If I'm not mistaken the #7 was out of the top 35 going into Martinsville and rain saved him at his worst track to get him in the field and he was able to race back up to 35th in points.

So if there is rain next week, that could do wonders for the team.
Somehow someone needs to figure out how to motivate the team guys so they bring a car to the track that doesn't suck. Stop complaining about single car this and no money that... make it happen.
Wonder where all the people who said there was no chance of the 7 missing a race this year are now. Hummm?
