32) #34-Conway/Front Row: 1112, +117
33) #37-Gilliland/Front Row: 1109, +114
34) #71-Labonte/TRG: 1109, +114
35) #7-Gordon/RGM: 1060, 65 points ahead of 36th
these teams/ drivers must qualify by speed:
36) #38-Kvapil/Front Row: 995, 65 points out of the top 35
37) #26-Stremme/Latitude43: 982, -78

RGM can move UP:

RGM can move up to 34th by beating the 71 by 17 positions

RGM can move up to 33rd by beating the 71 and 37 by 17 positions

RGM can move up to 32nd by beating the 71 and 37 by 17, and the 34 by 19 positions

RGM can fall out of the Top 35

38 beats RGM by 22 positions, or the 26 beats RGM by 27 positions and RGM fails to beat the cars ahead of him to gain positions.

*Boris Said will likely drive the 26 car. If Boris finished in the Top 10 and RGM finished 37th or worse RGM could be outside the Top 35.

Other Notes:

Not many teams will "Start & Park" this weekend.

The 09 team will have Jan Magnussen and plans to compete.

RGM will field a 2nd entry 07 car with PJ Jones

Here's hoping we climb up and over the 71, 37 and 34 next week.
could happen
Is FRM going to run Conway next weekend?
im sure the would, if his plans are running whole season next year he better
He pays the bills, he is racing. Conway tested at Infineon a few weeks back.
Not if we have another performance like today
Thought it would look better after the # 71 finished 41st , but it's ok got a Lap Lead at Least . All Hopes For Next Week Now !
The 71 is falling fast due to the end of tax season (Taxslayer.com). They may put a bullet in the car for this coming weekend though, after all TRG is primarily a road racing team. Should be exciting. GoRobbyGo!!! Can't wait for Sunday.
TRG may bring a hot rod considering Sonoma is owner Kevin Buckler's backyard, but Bobby hasn't competed very well at the road courses in the last few years since the competition caught up. His last top 10 at Sonoma was a 9th place effort in 2003 in the Joe Gibbs Racing Interstate Batteries #18. Who won that race anyway?
The same could be said about Robby.....no top 10's since 2003.
Not quite. While Robby has not had a top ten at Sonoma since 2003, he has had success at Watkins Glen since then. He scored a 2nd in 2005, a 4th in 2006, and a 5th in 2007. Of course, Watkins Glen is a different beast but it does translate into recent success at road course racing. He also qualified in 2nd and 8th respectively at Sonoma in 2007 & 2008, so Robby knows how to put down a hot lap. Let's hope RGM's focus on testing of late can show quality results.
All I know is, after the race next Sunday, if RG finishes in the top 10 or top 5, NOBODY in the racing business/media will be surprised with the result. Vegas still makes him a top 10 odds on choice to win , and he is usually favored in all the vegas head to head matchups with other drivers.

Yeah I know he hasnt 'recorded' a top 10 finish at infineon since 2003 and yeah I know the field has 'caught up' on road courses. Any RG fan who isnt excited that the next race on the schedule is Infineon, is full of shit.
