Nascar.com is reporting that Robby has decided not to run next weekend at New Hampshire because of lack of sponsorship. Robby Gordon Motorsports will be running a car with P.J. Jones only. Is this true!
Thanks Keith! Don't feel too sorry for us. Jaci, the rest of the gang, and I can have a great time regardless of whether Robby is there or not. The last Indy 500 is one example. Just wish we knew a few weeks ago as we could have planned our party at a different venue as we do like to show Robby our support. Nothing speaks louder to the sponsors than to see a large group of loud (and somewhat crazy) people wearing his sponsor's swag and waving his banners. Trust me when I say we are noticed! (Inside joke: Sylvania tours anyone??)
Maybe it's wishful thinking, but still believe he'll find a way to make the race. What a momentum breaker after yesterday's high. Would like to know what happened to the BAM deal though.
Each tire costs between $350 and $450. I am still have a little hope he is so fast he runs the whole race. What a let down I thought things were looking good for RGM.
I guess it's time for me to chime in on this discussion, but let me preface my remarks by saying that my heart is beyond broken by this recent turn of events! As many of you know I do not follow RG because of Nascar, I follow Nascar because of Robby. As I write the Mouseman is outside cleaning up the yard for our company which may or may not join us this weekend. I do understand how enormously tough it is to find sponsorship in this miserable economic climate, and Rob has pulled a rabbit out of the proverbial hat before...but...Oh hell, I think I just need to drink!
