Bobby Labonte to Drive for Robby Gordon Motorsports at Loudon

Former Champ to Pilot No. 7 Toyota at NHMS

Charlotte, NC (June 23, 2010) – Robby Gordon Motorsports will put 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Bobby Labonte behind the wheel of the No. 7 Toyota at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 this weekend in a current one-race deal.

“When we found out that Bobby was available to drive for us, we jumped at it,” said team owner Robby Gordon. “To have a past champion driving your car is a good opportunity. I think we can learn from him this weekend and it will help our program moving forward.”

Robby Gordon Motorsports finished second in last weekend’s race at the Infineon Raceway.

“I can’t thank Robby and his folks enough for this opportunity,” said Labonte. “We’re going to New Hampshire with the goal of having another solid run for his team. They had a great finish at Sonoma and have some momentum right now. I’m just thankful for the opportunity and hope to get another solid finish for his team.”

Labonte will be making his first start for Robby Gordon Motorsports and plans on running the full race this Sunday.

Great News........I'm sure Bobby can give the team some really good feedback regarding the car....plus Bobby might be able to pull a top 20 out of a hat and those points might be very valuable considering there are races out there in the future RGM might not be a part of......

Be nice if Bobby saw something in the cars and decided to bring some support on Board to run future entries for RGM....

-That was in the rumor mill going into this season, then Bobby went to TRG instead. I'm a skeptic about some of the people he puts in his cars, guys. I really don't see Bobby doing any better than 1 lap down. I'd like to see Robby go more "radical" with a sub driver, say Ricky Rudd, Jason Leffler, and how about Steve Park?

is bobby sponsoring himself this week to pay the bills like ricky bobby did and have the ME sponsor on the car, lol. I see his name on the header too??? j/k but it's nice to see the car going to run the whole race and maybe get some new ideas or tips on the setup of the cars or the feel.

This is good news! It's nice to see Bobby onboard. He may add some nice knowlege to the team.
I was getting bummed with the fact that the #7 was going to be a S&P this week. No more :)
