I like the Chassis info TOG.......I am trying to learn more about them so to me it's good stuff thanks
I read F.A.Q.'s at first posting every week, I think the chassis question was for Chicagoland. That discussion hasn't started yet. Enjoy the 4th and remember it's about securing our independence,we need to continue the fight to keep it.
Good run!
Congrats RGM!! Good Run!!
Thanks for the info about "shock packers". Robby also complained about a bad vibration, and mentioned the drive shaft. Same complaint (I think) Bobby Labonte had the week prior. Sat next to another RG fan, but that was the only other #7 supporter I saw all night, but I know we are out there. Mark Martin was running with RG for quite some time, and RG wanted his spotter to get a message to MM about how unstable RG was. To me it sounded like the one thing Robby did not want to do was wreck Mark Martin:)
Exciting race! Well earned 12th place finish - missing all those wrecks and surviving is a feat in itself! Although he looked to be poised for a top 10 at the end, I am very happy with the result - very smart driving, Robby! The team has been working hard and it shows!!
Very simple: His car was handling like shit for most of the race, thus the run in the back. Plate races are 100% crapshoots anyways. He could have run top 5 the entire race and still got wadded up. Would he still get scored as a top 5 even if he ran there all race? No. You get scored where you finish. The record books show he finished 12th. not 35th. Not 43rd. But 12th. Robby said it was the worst driving car he has ever had at Daytona. Perhaps in the NEXT episode of Speedfactory he will explain what caused his vibrations the entire race to make the car handle like shit. On to Chicago.
Sums it up. Love that answer.

On a side note: The last time Robby said he had the worst driving car he has ever had at Daytona was the 2008 Daytona 500 where he finished 8th.
whatever was causing the car to vibrate badly the entire race effected the handling in the race and not in practice, because the car drove great in practice for RG. Robby was complaining of the driveshaft during the race. They made it through without terminal problems, and finished 12th.On to Chicago.
and on the flip side of that, if Robby runs the 43rd fastest lap in Happy Hour at Talladega in the fall, that doesnt mean that his car sucks, and no need for people to jump off the ledge. Right place, right time = fast lap on a plate track in practice( and in the race)
race ended on the 4th. You owe saluki 10 schillings .
robby should have more of his worst handling cars at daytona more often.
