Road Course Race Coming to The Chase? Nascar looking at it

Sports Illustrated is reporting that Nascar is considering adding a road course to Nascar's playoff The Chase. Currently The Chase has every style of track except a road course. The Chase has a plate race at Talladega, short track at Martinsville, concrete track at Dover, flat tracks at Phoenix and Loudon, and cookie cutters like Texas, Homestead, Kansas & Fontana. The most likely tracks to loose a date would be Loudon or Fontana. Loudon seems to be the most likely with TV market ratings favoring Fontana.

Nascar is also considering a "Elimination Style" format for The Chase. This style was used once in the All-Star race, but removed after fans didn't like the format.

If Nascar wants a true playoff, they must include "Cinderella" teams and find away to give them a long shot chance. The Top 10 or 12 drivers that win every week and run up front every week gets old. That's why so many love plate races & road courses...many new names & faces challenging.
I liek the first idea but the second is completely asinine.
Awful ideas. Way too complicated, and both devalue the regular season. Does NASCAR think that an NFL team that goes 1-15 should be able to compete with a 14-2 team in week 1 of the playoffs?

Every race is not going to come down to the last lap, and every championship can't come down to the last race. NASCAR is going to have to come to terms with that and stop making this like pro wrestling and engineering the outcome.
I can see Robby being "rented" by one of the big boys to run it for them. He would be out of the points and he could put p.j in his car and do a start and park and bank a ton of money...
Road courses suck. 2 are more than enough for the current brick called COT.

Elimination Style should have been from the start.
How can you be a Robby fan and hate road courses?
I am pretty sure that has nothing to do with it.Some people just dont like road racing for cup cars, regardless who is driving on them.
Remeber the Riverside Ca days........There where some great finishs
The "old" car was somewhat race-able. There is no way somebody does what RHR did yesterday, racing his way from the back to a top 10 (twice) in a COT. These cars are too top heavy and lack proper tires and brakes for these courses. Has nothing to do with Robby. I'd like to see what he could do in a good Grand Am set up.

Road America will not be the same race next year as NNS goes to their version of COT.
If NASCAR was truly started by Whiskey Runners running from the Revenuers, how can a true fan not like the Road Courses.
Best races all year have been the plate races and Sonoma
the best race all year was the Nationwide at Road America.
