According to Jenna Fryer Bobby will be back in the 09 at Indy. Maybe PJ in a second RGM entry?.

I agree with putting Bobby in the #7 at Martinsville. That would be best for the owners points, and let Robby have a little break. Not that I don't like seeing Robby drive, just not in that race.
UNLESS, Hendrick is bankrolling Finch to get that team points and experience, because that's where Kasey Kahne is going to spend 2011. I think that is exactly what is happening. The 09 is getting better equipment and Labonte gets them in every race without having to start and park.

That's a win-win-win-win for all concerned: Finch, Labonte, Hendrick and Kahne.
That would be a good plan, except the 09 is over 450 points out of 35th in the Owner's Points. There's no way they'll make that up for 2011.

Even if the #9 and #19 disappeared after this year, that still leaves the 09 300+ points out of 37th. I'd expect Front Row to try and buy those owners points before they disappeared altogether...

If BL were to qualify the car for the 1st races in 2011, then Kahne ran the car for the races, is the only penalty just that Kahne starts at the back for the race? If so that's what I'd be doing. It's cheesy, but at least I'm guaranteed to make the show.
I think that would be the only penalty, yes.

And to follow up on your point, I am sure that if the 9 or 19 were to fold, Hendrick could always buy those points 'somehow.'

The 09 may not be able to make it into the top 35 -- that's a good point -- but I think HMS will keep that car on the track for the rest of the year.
There must be a reason RG didn't put Bobby in a car for Indy...$$$???
To make light of it.... He did get a second chance. That was the backup car. Haha
LOL.
Bobby is a past champ for sure, and Buckler at TRG was sure having him would attract sponsors,we all see how that worked out.Of course it would be nice to see a second car running with Robby, but before you can run a second car think it would be better to secure full sponsorship for one car.
More... From Bob Pockrass: Bobby Labonte back in 71 for TaxSlayer.com races at Pocono, Michigan, Atlanta, Texas.

Don't know what that's about, I guess you can draw from that there is not an immediate future w/RGM.
This is why TRG said we will try to run some possible races in the future with Bobby again. It's called a contract. Bobby had full right to walk away when they had intent to S&P, but the races Taxslayer signed on for Bobby is obligated to drive. I'm sure Bobby has no problem as long as they run the entire race. Taxslayer had a deal for so many races with TRG & Bobby Labonte as the driver. I'm sure they fully expect both parties to uphold their commitment. They've altready invested their marketing with Bobby Labonte, not Lally or Bliss.

It's good new for Bobby that those races are already covered.

I agree on Watkins Glen. Love to see RGM run two raodie cars with Labonte, but I can really see it more beneficial to RGM for Bobby to run Martinsville. Hopefully RGM can run 2 cras with Bobby soon, but Robby watching Bobby run at Martinsville would be a good idea!
Martinsville will probably be a s & p .
Bobby Labonte (Official Page) Hey Fans! Yep, it's true. I will be back in the No. 71 at Pocono, Michigan, Atlanta and Texas, partnering with the folks at TaxSlayer.com. Thanks for your support!
