What's the deal with Nascar and Carl Edwards? They are certainly taking there time with Edwards and his punishment. (Which he should get). If that had have been Robby spinning BK, they would have had him behind bars before the grandstands were cleaned up. It's such bullsh*t. Carl went too far this time. He should be parked on Sunday. Just like they did to Robby and Kevin Harvick.

Edwards is the NASCAR face of Aflac not Billy Whatshisname. Given the investment, it's a big deal not having Edwards in the car and to replace him for a race would be guilt by association from Aflac's view.
Park him for a race and put Aflac on a non-sponsored car.
Jimmy Spencer vs. Kurt Busch. Off-track incident. Driver of the Sharpie Ford instigates, Spencer reacts. Spencer suspended one race. The Sharpie Ford driver not penalized. Goes on to win the following week at the Sharpie sponsored Bristol race.

Don't put another driver in the 99, he would still earn owner's points. By contract, they probably couldn't put aflac on another team's car which would be the only fair way to pull it off. But this is NASCAR, so fair isn't a factor. Both drivers should sit out a race. Neither has enough respect for their car, their team nor their fellow drivers.

Earnhardt was not loved for his driving style. It wasn't until after his death that he really became a hero. He was booed almost every race. He wasn't the first driver to wreck for a win, and Edwards won't be the last. Skinner once said he would wreck his grandma if it would win him a race. Lost his ride with RCR soon after.
Very true. In today's fragile economy, Aflac will not be sat out for a race, or their "star" driver. Money talks, bullsh*t walks...........It's the NA$CAR way. Need A Signed Cheque At Races.
I bet Robby would have done the same thing Edwards did if he was lucky enough to be contending for a win. I don't like Edwards but Earnhardt became a legend wrecking people and taking the checkers. If Robby gets a win this year I could care less if he gets parked the following week for wrecking someone.
Sainthood for sure.
orange ya glad he changed it up this week ?
Aboslutely. It makes it easier to pick him out in the field. Especially when the networks only cover the front runners. I hate it when the networks scroll the positions at the top of the screen, and then they go to commercial when it starts to pass 22nd place.
The problem with what Carl did is his action took out 5 or 6 other cars in the process, If your are going to "have at if boys" make sure is just the two and not half the field. I don't care for either one of them, but nacar did right. Carl went to far.
Carl should go ask Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch how "rubbing" should be done in the closing laps.

Actually, NASCAR should use the video at the drivers meeting as that's a perfect example of how to do it professionally. Carl's moves would play the part of one of those over-the-top sexual harassment video clips...
Actually, I think Jeff Gordon is the point man on when it is acceptable to make contact with another car. As I remember, I think he believea 'If the car has a 24 on the roof, have at it.'
Aflac is honoring a local hero in Indy this weekend for a great guy and a great cause. Local hero Jerry Snyder. It would not have been in NASCAR's best interest to park the Alfac driver or the car. $$$$
