If robby allowed hendrick to take the 7 car and points for kasey next year in exchange for 3 year technical data exchange package. I think he would have a good shot at attracting menard back along with paul driving.  RGM would have 2 cars full time and a 3rd car for robby at selected races for 2011 daytona road courses etc.  , allowing robby to try his other races  DAKAR, Monster Truck, Score, rally car, and Indy 500.  then continue as associate to hendrick for next 2 years with robby driving 7 again and paul still in 98.  This would be perfect for RGM long term future.  its obvious this year rgm is behind on building a competitive chasis. This would help him attract more sponsorship with sponsors knowing hendrick is helping.  this also gets all of his equipment under the chevy band wagon.

Is this even a possibility?  trust me I want to see robby running full nascar schedule 2011 but I don't think he has a chance to be competive anymore unless he gets together with a super team.

I don't know how realistic the Hendrick thing is. But, if RGM does not have a technical alliance in place next year, it will be RGM's last year as a cup team. They probably would not make it the entire year. Sad but probably true.
especially with the fuel injection coming into play next year and beyond...
With today's confirmation that Marcos Ambrose is leaving JTG Daugherty at the end of the year, here's the latest rumor I just made up: RGM and JTG Daugherty will merge operations with two-time Aussie V8 Supercar champion, Jamie Whincup, replacing Ambrose. No word on sponsors yet.
With all of the rumors going around right now , this has as much a chance of happening as anything else. =)
JTG is still running out of the MWR shop, and has made noise about wanting their own facilities before. Perhaps a RGM/JTG combination alliance with MWR would be a win all around.
Jamie is a Great driver, I love the Super V8 Series...........Crazy drivers
Its all so easy !
This makes so much sense for solidifying the future of RGM. Technical support/engine building, attracting sponsors and becoming a two car team....... everything you need to go to the next level. If the opportunity presented itself, he should jump at it. The Menard idea is a pipe dream, but Robby would drive the other car besides the Kahne entry and RGM would only benefit. The first five races would be tough with the qualifying, but he has done it in the past. By the end of the season, he would have two cars in the top 35. A changing/improving business climate should benefit him at the time and then a Menard opportunity may present itself. Any way you look at it.......it would be a winner.
It all sounds great, but you dont become Rick Hendrick by do now & figure out later: He had a plan in place the second he signed Kahne.
Hendrick obviously didnt have a plan for 2011 since they are now talking about moving mark out of the 5 car.
WOW. That's an active imagination. After seeing this one, I don't think the Mendard idea is a pipe dream at all. In fact the only pipe here is the one you're smoking.

Does anyone think that Kasey will have a problem qualifying for any races next year in a Hendrick prepared car? I suppose anything could happen for the Daytona 500, but all Rick would need to do is switch the points from the 48 car to whatever car Kasey drives next year. Past Champ provisional. Problem solved.
that is a good point but hendrick cant have 5 cars and he is not going to let 48 points go to any other car. he needs another car locked in top 35 because the 1st race is daytona and anything can happen. And having that car locked in makes sponsorship easier
