This year's Watkins Glen is shaping up to offer one of the best races ever for road ringers & road aces.
- Robby Gordon - previous winner skipped Pocono to concentrate on sunday's race. Gordon stated after his runner-up finish at Sonoma, they would come to Watkins Glen with "guns blazin." Robby has put in a ton of preperation for this race.
- Marcos Ambrose - Should have won Sonoma with a fast car, but driver error cost him the victory. Ambrose will be looking to avenge this weekend in his last road race with his current team.
- Boris Said - Boris has made strong runs with less than par equipment. This time Boris will be in the show with Red Bull Racing. It will by far the best team Boris has been with at Watkins Glen.
- Jimmie Johnson - Not known for his road racing abilities, JJ won this year's race at Sonoma. His car was very fast and they have one of the best crew chiefs in the business making race strategy calls, which are always crucial at road races.
- Jeff Gordon - Hungier than ever, Jeff returns to a place where he typically runs very well. No reason to think Gordon's team won't borrow the notes from the 48 team and have a solid car this weekend.
- Kevin Harvick - It's been Harvick's year with strong runs. Harvick usually runs better at The Glen than Sonoma, where he finished 3rd.
- Tony Stewart - Tony had a good car at Sonoma, but the team didn't get the breaks with pit strategy. Stewart eneded up with a Top 10, but had a Top 5 car.
- Kasey Kahne - turning into quite a road racer. Won at Sonoma last year and finished in the Top 5 again this year. Expect Kahne to be in the hunt.
- Juan Pablo Montoya - WIth Juan losing out on Indy again, expect his efforts to pick it up again this weekend. His only Cup win was at Sonoma.
- A J Allmendinger - A natural at turning right & left, AJ is looking to become the face at RPM, but first needs to break into the win column. The Glen will give him a better opportunity than some tracks.
- Kurt Busch - Kurt has done extra testing for the road races this year hoping to improve their chances. Kurt got wrecked at Sonoma, but expects to make some noise at The Glen. (Note to Jimmie Johnson, make sure you know where the 2 car is at all times)
- Ron Fellows - Great driver, but will be in under funded equipment. Should help TBR with points, but likely won't see past the Top 20.
