I am extremly proud of Robby and the whole team. It was an awesome show of what they can do when funds allow. Just a few more seconds and it would have been a victory. Heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. It feels like a kick in the nuts but also a shot in the arm of how well the car and team performed. I havent seen a racer have that much bad luck , since well i worked with my uncle on his race team out behind my house in our 3/4 size garage . He was up against the heavy hitters just like Robby as well. Would of made a hell of a birthday present tomorrow with a win. Heck it still feels pretty darn good. Just take the race with a smile and grain of salt and go on to the next one.
I gained a lot of respect for Miles yesterday. He was spot on with the race and called it for when he may run out of gas. Right on the money. Heartbroken for no win, but helluva job. 3rd place car I think, but he drove smart and that says a lot for RG.
So Montreal packs the seats (which most other tracks can't do in this economy), puts on a VERY entertaining race with a first time winner. RG adds to the drama with his gas strategy coming up short on the green/white/checker. Three road course guys fight each other cleanly for fantastic last lap. The top two positions finish side by side for the 5th closest Busch/Nationwide race ever.

What does Montreal get for this???? They lose their standalone Sunday date!! Next year they share the weekend with Michigan and is the weekend right after Watkins Glen.

NASCAR needs to figure it out. It's tracks like these that keep the circuit interesting.
i agree 100%.
Give the Sonoma date to Montreal for a Cup race, and put Sonoma in the Chase.
Nascrap is nervous that the sport is getting really popular in french speaking part of the world, which may alianate their red blooded/neck fan base.
just can't see NASCAR approving 3 road courses, or a Cup race outside of the U.S.A. great idea though.
Excellent idea!
thats alot of passport issues for the cup teams to deal with....i say do it
great showing.....this is what racing is all about. Nice job RGM. i gotta say it was fun to be on the edge of my seat for a change.
Stupid Leffler! LOL! Good showing, overcame all sorts of adversity only to have defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. Ah well, that's racin'! It was a heckuva a show, and I offer congrats to Boris Said, it was a deserved and long overdue win.
I'm not a fan of Nascar stepping in and enforcing on track courtesy, but how many idiots stayed out putting oil all over the track. I know it cost our boy at the end (thanks Leffler), but there was several others that had no regard for their competitors. I'm sure they all have spotters and others that let them know. It wasted so many laps of good racing yesterday. I wish Nascar would penalize a driver when they do crap like that. Nascar listens in on the scanners, they know if the driver has been told of possibly putting oil down. I can deal with the spinouts and wrecks...that's racin, but watching pace laps to pour kitty litter all around a road course becuase some idiots tried to gain an extra lap is just stupid! Steve Wallace and Jason Leffler should know better!
