Is KC the next RG?

Before you completely go postal on the ol' slider for my less-than-elegant headline, allow me to wax-poetically for a minute.

Like many of you here, my attachment to RG owes its genesis to my childhood racing hero, AJ Foyt. Sad was the day when my driver opted to retire from racing and transition to the role of Indy car owner. Who was going to continue the firery, cantantorious and aggressive style of racing that fit AJ so well?

Not long after, we started to hear about this kid Robby Gordon driving for AJ. Very quickly, it was apparent that AJ had indeed found a driver with his same style of racing, who also could drive the wheels off the black and red #14 Copenhagen indy car.

Pretty much at that point, I was an RG fan.

Fast forward about 30 years and now we've got some new kid driving the #7 car. I know nothing about KC, just like I knew nothing about RG those many years ago. Are these two scenario's analogous? Only time will tell.

But I must say, I'm not ready to change drivers any time soon.

Talking about the "sad day" when your driver retired (AJ), reminded me that Robby had just stuck the Foyt car into the wall at Indy. AJ retired on the spot, blaming himself, said he (AJ) shouldn't be in a car, should have been in the pits making sure mechanicals were right on Robby's car. Ironic.
