agreed. it's worth watching
I wish the Nationwide series was anywhere close to worth watching.
Agreed. Between Busch, Logano, Harvick, and Kesolowski I can virtually predict the winner of every Nationwide race.
Justin Allgair at Bristol was the only win by a non-cup driver at an oval. Its a shame because he has so much talent, but cannot showcase it due to the cup drivers.

As far as rigging goes, Dale Jr winning in the No. 3 Wrangler Chevy at Daytona is suspicious. IMHO, Nascar began its downturn when Winston left. Prior, drivers like Johnny Benson and Ricky Craven were able to upset favorites because the playing field was, for the most part, level. Drivers were not told to let "chasers" pass them because they were contenders. Also, the COT did not help at all.

I think it's funny when people talk about how bad the competition is today.

2010 - 13 different winners
2000 - 14 different winners
1990 - 14 different winners

Pretty much this season is right on pace with historical trends. Anyone care to remember how often guys like Dale Earnhardt or even Bill Elliott would win races?

In addition, flash back 10 years ago or 20 years ago and see how many cars finish on the lead lap at most races. Homestead 2000 there were six cars on the lead lap at the end of the race. At the season ending race at Atlanta in 1990 there were four cars on the lead lap. Quite honestly, the competition back then was less than great. Some might even call it terrible. Only a handful of cars had the potential to win at any given race. Sure there was the occasional upset, but most races were a runaway by the top couple cars. The big difference was that the technology wasn't where it is today. Being one of those top cars at a race was often a stroke of luck! Almost any team could get lucky here or there!
Don't let's facts get in the way of a good story! I've been watching Cup since 75 and the whole myth that race'n was closer,more competitive back in the day is just a myth. While the 'luck dog' rule might put a few more cars on the lead lap at the fiinish,really more cars are on the lead lap and finishing in general is do to HUGE improvements mechanically.DNF's do to mechanical's is almost non-existent ( I know SnP's,I can make DNF's on purpose to ) in most of racing today.

You guys are right, the numbers don't lie. But it still seems so much more contrived today. Pit road speed limits, mystery debris cautions when either a) the race gets boring or b) a contender goes a lap down, or c) Dale JR. goes a lap down, every mfg. fields the exact same car (even before the cot, remember adjustment were made almost weekly to noses, etc,)
