Does anyone have any idea if there will be any changes made to the restrictor plate that was used last year.

They had changed the plate just before the start last year giving a hugh advantage in the HP to weight ratio to the VW's and I was wondering if Team Hummer got some of that back this year.

1 mm will make a huge difference!

Probably reason why rg has not realesed any details i bet the vw fags lurk this site often, if i remember rg gave more details last year before the race. I remeber him saying something about tunning the ls7 for the restrictor and baamm come race day a german shows up with a restrictor!

Details about the 2011 Dakar Rally from Team SPEED Energy Hummer will come out next week. I highly doubt VW is worried about other teams after winning Dakar in 2010. The Tourag & Hummer are so different.

Lurking?  That's funny stuff right there Spot'd.

Seems that when the huge money teams actually get competition they whine that someone else has something that they don't and try to take it away.  From the pic posted it looks like RG will get 1mm back.

thats what im saying and RG does compete very welll

The biggest deal for RG this year is they gave him back his 6 speed.  BJ seen a 5mph increase in top speed over RG last year.  Last Year with RG being seeded he was restricted to a 5 speed but BJ was not.  Yes RG also gets a bigger restrictor this year too.  Other more important things for RG are a lighter set-up and those damned air lines on the rear are now tucked into the axle shaft finally.  But, as most most of RG's new tweaks. Limited testing.  Air restrictor size increase is neat but that won't buy 3 hours lost for gremlins on the course.

Keep those gremlins at bay.

I'm praying that the new hubs and tire inflation system hang together.  This kind on new trick stuff can be full of gremlins.

Go Robby!  This thing can't start soon enough for me.  The Planet has been so quiet.  We are all holding are breath for any solid announcement!   RG is one smart cat!  I can't wait to watch this unfold!

tire inflation systems have thousands of miles of testing this year.

Good cuz it's gunna get 6000 more. was it tested on the 4 seater?

pre-runners have had them..RG said they have over 3000 miles of testing & all good results.
