Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 2 of the 2011 Dakar Rally.Robby Gordon will start 8th & Eliseo Salazar will start 28th. Raceday chat will also be available throughout the entire 2011 Dakar Rally.

STAGE 2: Cordoba > San Miguel de Tucuman

Connection 440km | Special Stage 324km | Total 764km

COURSE OVERVIEW

For this stage entirely covering new ground, the competitors’ compass bearings will be set to the north, leading the rally into a backdrop of forest which will remind some observers of bush landscapes. During part of the day, the bikes and quads will again be separated from the cars and trucks. The acrobats on two wheels will have a field day on an old track where jumps are plentiful and sometimes spectacular. In the cockpits of the cars, the drivers can also expect a bumpy ride: endless hops and bounds as well as blind corners will be on the menu.

Miller crashed this morning. Broken bonnet, door will not close but he is continuing.

Thanks all, well we finished - regroup and back at it. Everybody is due 1 mechanical failure, hopefully that was our one.

Sure hope it wasn't the tire inflation system... the old one ate a bunch of time last year & this year it's a whole new design. We'll find out soon enough, Robby's pretty good at letting us know.

fresh from french news ....

robby spend a while in a ditch on the side of the track ....

tow himself out with a fiat 127 !!!!!!!!!!

he drove himself the tiny toy ..... =) to tow the hummer .

lost ten minutes there .... and later in the stage stopped again .... complications may be !?

You know the old saying about never bring a knife to a gun fight? The Dakar is a 4X4 race this year and Robby just brought the wrong weapon. It probably is always going to be a 4X4 race in the future too as it is never going back to Africa.
