No stage 5 for Robby Gordon....2011 Rally is now over for the #303 HUMMER.

Robby Gordon had right front wheel bearing issues before the start of the timed special, costing him about 5 hours. He completed the stage, but because he was late to the special, he is disqualified from the rally.

"This is not fair" said Gordon after the stage, "I can´t understand the descision of the Organizer ASO. During the stage the officials told me that we can still run, after the stage they told me I´m disqulified. I tried everything to start again."

The technical problems happened during the liasion, Gordon was waiting for the second Hummer of Eliseo Salazar and his Service-crew. But Salazar was still in the timed stage, the service trucks had to wait after all participants were in the stage because to fasten the border-crossing between Argentina and Chile.

"I don´t know if I will come back next year" said a disappointed Gordon. The second Hummer with Eliseo Salazar is still competing in 81st overall position.

Robby always bounces back.

Yeah Robby will come back with a well tested car. Right now its emotions talking. Once he's back calms down he'll think how he can compete next year.

Come on Robby this is just a temporary set back.

Keep The Faith!

like i said last year the rules allowed for finishing times and tow in times or dq, but they changed the rules when a huge # of teams dident make it in time and created a 100 hour penalty  or am i remembering wrong

He should forget running the desert truck, and run the Hummer.  The factory teams run other rally-raids before Dakar, and put a lot of time into their cars.  Obviously it pays off in the Dakar.  4-wd would be better, but would be surprised if he changed because he doubt he wants to build a car so limited by the rules.  So lots more testing, and running other rallies with the Hummer in 2011, please.

Any more info on Kellen running down the hub yesterday?
No Dakar next year WTF
my memory was wrong  on my earlier post.i haven't  found the article yet but  according to 2010 dakar standings http://www.dakar.com/us/DAKAR/2010/stage-7/standings/cars/stage.html  last year 61 cars of the 129 cars that started the 2010dakar rally finished stage6. on the next day, stage 7, there were 70 cars that finishd but with 29 cars with 12 hour to 22 hour  penalty's   for being allowed to re enter the dakar rally other wise there would have been only  about 40 cars left with the half way point not even hear yet.so if the powers that be could reconsider and let robby in today with a 12 hour penalty or tomorrow with a 22 hour penalty it would be greatly appreciated
How's the 327 hummer doing today ?
Hope they review the rules, hate to see anyone eliminated

I agree.  That is a long sentence.
