The last two years I have been dissapointed because Robby's merchandise trailer wasn't there. With the new Speed Energy advertising in full effect hopefully it will be there this year. Anybody have any word on this. Im trying to decide if I need to buy it online before I go, or if I should wait and buy it at the track.

The costs for the space alone is ridiculous. You need 400-500 point of sale transactions per day to break even (maybe)
Can't they bring a smaller hauler - saw some at Bristol that were mini-versions? I know the rental space cost is crazy expensive!
For that past few years he hasn't brought his trailer to any of the Florida races. I understand why he doesn't bring it to Homestead cause he will make more in Baja, but bringing it to one of the Daytona races would be nice.
It' really a shame, maybe that hooters idea ain't so bad, its right across the street from the track the mass of people that walk by could be handed a free speed energy drink. Just tired of seeing a majority of other teams there every year and no RGM.
He was at Hooters last year with the Monster show car as well as other places in the area.
You have to think about how expensive it is to rent the spot for the merchandise trailer, and then the costs of transport and staffing. I don't think it is possible to sell enough merchandise to get close to breaking even at most places. Why spend the money to give away lots of Speed Energy at tracks in states where the product is not even available yet? It looks to me like they are doing focused roll outs and marketing in those areas where the product is more readily available. Which makes financial sense.

The first energy drink we ever tried was at a NASCAR race in Charlotte. A NOS truck was going through the campgrounds giving away free Rowdy (Busch) cans. We were on the very last row - so eager to get rid of the stuff (as there weren't that many takers with Kyle's mug on the can) and being we never turn down anything that is free, we got a trunk full. A cheap yet effective way to market, as mixers are always useful when camping.
Just because the souvenir hauler may not be at Daytona, doesn't mean that there will not be appearances by Robby at Daytona. Perhaps Robby has another plan in effect for promotions outside the track ( showcar, etc ) .
TOG-I understand all the promotions outside the track may happen over the time in Daytona, I think what you are seeing here is frustration (me included) of us Floridians, who go to Daytona once or twice a year just for the Duels, 500, or 400 and don't spend time in Daytona except at the track then leave and see no RGM stuff anywhere and everyone else for the most part has trailers there. Heck I even travel up to the Brickyard every year and it's hit or miss there mostly miss. It just seems people on here read about the trailer going to alot of the off road stuff, but skipping Cup weekends. I know for one, it would be nice to see the trailer parked with all the others, or maybe he could cut a deal with a business across from the track, so he could move some Speed Energy Swag, thats all.
I personally don't care if he parks the trailer a mile from the track, just give me a place that I can go and get some swag. With the new energy drink, daytona 500 approaching, I'm ready to show some Robby Gordon pride. Every year I get positive comments from my old Robby Gordon shirts. I think the demand is there, just need to market it better! How much longer till the new Speed energy hoodies come out?
