Indy car announced today that the series will return to Las Vegas this year for the season finale. Also if a non regular Indy Car driver wins the race the driver will get 5 Million dollars!! I don't know how realistic this is for Robby but I think it would be awesome exposure for SPEED and I feel like Robby could run up front and contend. Also something to note is that this will be the last race for the current chassis and body style for the current Indy Car's so he could probably pick one up for a lot less then it would be normally. Plus with the new Nascar partnership with Penske this makes alot of sense to me but we all know it is up to the almighty $.

Here is a link with more info about it. http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/indycar-bernard-sets-5m-las-vegas-challenge

Plus Robby just tweeted "5 mil huh...."

I hope he can work something out!

he could replace Will Power, he's not that good on ovals.
Maybe this needs to be a separate discussion to get maximum support.

you guys need to remember that a committee will pick who the 5 drivers will be.....
Question is, What color should the Speed Penske/RGM IRL car be? I'd opt for the yellow.
Didn't Robby have issues with IRL over the Danica advantage?
Maybe she can drive the Pink Speed Energy IRL car???
One of the IndyCar reporters for Speed channel just tweeted "LVMS $5M story due out Friday. Randy Bernard tells who will/won't be invited, where the cars will come from, etc"

So looks like we will find more about this deal tomorrow.
I'm really annoyed with these guys on Speed Channel, they would throw out names of guys who might attempt this race and not once did they mention Robby. Hell if anybody would make an attempt one of them would be Robby.

Jimmie Johnson? Kyle and Kurt Busch? Seriously?

they've never driven an indycar in their lives, give me a break.
I think Allmendinger might bite on this, he could win. Your right, if you never drove an Indycar before forget it...no chance.

If they only want one cup guy they might not even invite Robby (though he should considered as the Off Road entry).
Even Dinger cant commit to this....hes 4th and in the Chase right now....no way can any Cup regular with CHase aspirations commit to this thing....because no Nascar Owner would allow them to do this...

Luckily our guy is both the owner and the driver :)
$5M is pretty good money.
especially when you get both the owner and drivers share...though I guess we'd have to pay penske a few dollars for the car and stuff....etc..
