It's always better to be up in the points.
remember the 2005 Daytona 500?
oooof...do I...right after Kevin LePage screwed us out of the 500, I had to jump in an RV with 10 buddies and drive down to Daytona to see the race..

THAT SUCKED!!! lol
Looks like David Gilliland got Khane's old equipment!
Nascar Now talked extensively about the New Easy Point System. According to the panel, the feel the gap is wider and harder for driver to dig out pf a hole compared to the previous points system. They look at drivers like Greg Biffle (30th) and Jeff Burton (33rd) and conclude these drivers can't afford another bad run. Maninly because you only get such minimal points with a bad finish. Finishing in the bottom 5 is almost like missing the race. With tracks like Bristol coming up, the panel believes if Burton or Biffle finishes poorly they could be sitting outside the Top 35 and have no hopes of making The Chase.

Look at Travis Kvapil who was caught in day ending wrecks in the first 2 races, he sits 40th in points. Since teams get such minimal points at the bottom, it has created a large gap between the Cup regulars and S&P teams. Casey Mears missed the 500, but an 18th place finish at PHX jumped him into the 35th position.

A solid run this weekend would be good for Robby!
Needs to lead a lap get top 25 finishes. That is what will keep the franchise alive.
WOW! how about this!!!

He is so lying...he lost his job at SI because of the porr article he wrote about Robby back in Decemeber...lol
great point. That article did suck
LOL...I was shocked to see him on there....I check out the Frontstretch alot becuase the on eguy Matt McLaughlin HATES Robby and always rails him when he gets a chance to (which he has the last two weeks in his Five Points To Ponder article).

Also, they have a bubble breakdown feature which unfortunately we have been part of over the last few years...but they do write a decent indepth recap of each drivers race that are 30-38th in Owners pts..
I read Frontstretch most days too. You're right, McLaughlin really does have it in for Robby. Little digs all the time. I've pretty much given up trying to correct him ever - he and his negative nellies will ignore any facts and just repeat the same old inaccurate crap.

I've been waiting for Robby to get a top 5 and see what Matt and his minions have to say about it. Soon, I hope.

As far as Bowles is concerned, he stuck his foot in it in that previous article about Robby, but for the most part, he seems to write a pretty good article. If what he's saying in his Fronstretch piece about getting canned from SI is accurate, and the whole story, then it does sound like he's getting screwed somewhat.
I have to give Bowles credit for stabbing the brown nosing "hard card" carrying NASCAR journalists:
Turns out the modern, professional media is ignorant of a changing culture beyond their control, one where “just the facts, ma’am” is increasingly replaced with the instant gratification of “just the facts, ma’am… and here’s how I think those facts should get interpreted. What do you think?”
basically calling out Jeff Gluck, who is no doubt one of Auto racings biggest hypocrites.
