NA$CAR versus Robby: Follow the Benjamin’s

Is NA$CAR trying to get rid of Robby Gordon? I make no bones about the fact that I like Robby because he’s one of the few mavericks left in a series that use to have a bunch of them. But there are several reasons why NA$CAR would want to get rid of Robby.

One is because he is a maverick. NA$CAR wants a bunch of PC clones who are willing to bend over and kiss la fleur du derriere of NA$CAR. Heavens forbid we have somebody who rocks the boat, which Robby does. He’s proven time and again he’s not afraid to speak his mind unlike the PC clones infesting the garage area which means Robby upsets the status quo of “everything is beautiful and we‘re one big happy family”.

Two is because unlike the PC clones filling the garage and are only widely recognized in North America, Robby is recognized globally because of his Dakar Rally and off-road racing efforts. Odds are if you asked somebody in Chile who Dale Jr. is, you’d get the answer of “Quien?” or “Who?”. Ask them who Robby Gordon is and odds are they know who Robby is because of his global racing efforts. We can’t have some upstart being more recognized than the “official face of NA$CAR”.

Three, is marketing. Robby does a lot of marketing outside of NA$CAR so NA$CAR doesn’t get their “take” on what Robby promotes and sells related to his Dakar Rally and off-road racing efforts. As we know, NA$CAR doesn’t take kindly to not getting their share of everybody else’s hard-earned money like the kings of old who did little but taxed everyone for the privilege of having a king. That’s why they get the lion’s share (75%) of souvenir sale money leaving the teams and drivers a pittance. Robby’s probably making a small fortune off of the sales of his products relating to his off-road and Dakar Rally racing. That means its money going into his pockets and not that of the France family and their cronies. I’m not sure how the sales of Robby’s energy drink is doing as I haven’t seen any figures for them yet but he must be doing quite well because you’ll notice when you see interviews with Robby or he’s on the track qualifying, the #4 and #83 cars or their drivers are being shown or interviewed. A good example is at LVMS, when Robby was qualifying, wasn’t it awfully strange that they were interviewing one of the Red Bull drivers, who went out well after Robby? Coincidence? Maybe, but I doubt it. Anything to take away from what Robby is doing and take away from his product.

Plus with Robby cutting back on his schedule this season, that means less entry fee money for NA$CAR. Less money for the car kits because Robby won’t be replacing cars as often because he’s not running a full schedule. At $250,000 a kit, NA$CAR’s probably losing about $6-$8 million off of Robby $B!Gs part time schedule. Money they were counting on, especially as they‘ve been losing money hand over fist the last few years. Then we have the incident with Mr. Stiffy at LVMS. How come NA$CAR didn’t ask Mr. Stiffy what he was doing in the Cup garage when he was running a Busch Series car? He shouldn’t have been in there at all. He also knows where Robby’s shop is and could easily have gone by there to discuss things with Robby. It’s almost like NA$CAR was the fait accompli in the incident and used it as yet another excuse to mess with Robby. I guess we’ll have to see what other lame stuff NA$CAR pulls out of their backside to continue screwing with Robby. Illegal stitching on his fire suit? Not enough decals on his helmet? Wrong color racing shoes? Anything that can fall under the infamous “actions detrimental to stock car racing” and any excuse will be used.
black helicopters ......
LOL..yeah..but he does love our boy...so I never call him on it!
Love it. Good Find.
Black helicopters indeed. However, is there anything more lame than the use of the dollar sign instead of the "S" in Nascar?I just imagine people who do that as thinking they're really clever but really.....they're not...

I say the 92 is going home .
I'm saying the 87 goes home. Nemechek does not get around BMS well at all. Even when he was with MB2 he qualified 38th on back.
Brian will go home, Kenny S. will be in the show. Should be a great race....
Well if there is going to be a surprise guy to go home...tracks like Bristol and Martinsville is where it will happen.

The inferiority of a car isnt as magnified here in qulaifying as it is on a cookie cutter or superspeedway and all it takes is a little slip in a corner to lose those precious tenths that wil separate everyone....cars just arent 7 mph slower at Bristol like they are at Vegas, etc...lol
