we dont need to race there........its a money loss everytime we go there........watch today and tell me how many fans show up
Nascar seems to think you have to be in the #2 television market to grow the sport. Obviously, the 'fans' don't support the event like other tracks/markets do, so the next area you need to look at is TV. Are the ratings for this race any higher in the LA market than other races on the schedule? Do the highlights of the race lead the LA newscasts or at least lead the sportscasts? If none of this is happening, how is Nascar being served by being here. No one is watching this race for excitement. Fox will lead you to believe that this is the track where you'll see five-wide racing. Yes, you will, but only on the first two laps of every restart. After that, it's pretty much follow the leader spreadout over the two mile track.

Though very boring races too, at least Pocono can sell out their races and their track is unique.
@ Curt.........been a racing fan for ever......any racing, even to the john! California just seems to be a slow week for me race wise. It would take some doing for me to format my day around it. I recognize it's Rob's home away from home so to speak geographically, even so my interest in California is minimal. I hope this helps you understand my statement, to further lament it would appear i'm not very involved this weekend but i'm there behind the team all the way and hope they get everything they can out of the race. Again, I hope that helped. To all else who are confused by this post you have to go back a page or two and read them. My self, I read every word posted here ...every word. Which means late Sunday night when I get back from a Walter Trout concert i'll read all the pages from 11 on so i'm properly informed.
My interest in California is the same as yours..... minimal, if that. I would truly love to see Robby put on a great show and get at least a top 10 , but I know better than to get my hopes up.

GAS ON !!!
Off-topic, but if anyone wants to see how NOT to do double-file restarts watch the Indycar race. So far they've made 1 green flag lap...
Did you miss the HUGE banner on the front page. NO SPOILERS.
@Scott, Brett was vague enough, no results/real details. All good.
How's that a spoiler? You going to police anyone who posts an ACTUAL SCORE of a bball game while the race is on too? I stopped watching the race, but will be sure to forward the finishers just to you...
Settle down boys , no harm , no foul. lol Man, the things that get some people riled up....... =)
yeah, I kind of agree with you here. Non motorsports are fine to post results as they are in progress. Don't want to know the score ? Don't login....lol....
Stay off google & twitter too then - you can't miss any details there. Brett was careful enough, no sweat.
Here's to a hard fought battle in Cali and a top 15 finish - c'mon RG, drive it like you stole it...
