Don't laugh. The Truck series is actually a good series. Sometimes way more interesting than Cup. Robby SHOULD start a truck series - It has been very successful for Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, and Bob Germain.
I have been saying this for years and said earlier this year. Trucks are his thing. Hire a young gun to drive and see what happens. It might get him closer to one certain manufacture instead of changing every year as well.
Same Qing same slow result - RGM it what it is. Sad when guys we say shouldn't out Q him do....Oh well. On to next week...
On to next week!? Did I miss the race...jeez...
Lets hope for a resurrection of the spring of 2003 at Richmond.
Best race of Robby's nascar career. He RACED his way to a top 5 finish after being 3 laps down. He got his laps back the honest way. There was no "lucky dogs" that day.
Well... What he did was race past the leader after the caution came out 3 different times, but it was allowed back then, and it was totally awesome!
I reckon it was 4 laps actually...but yeah on restarts he just took off from th eleaders and got his laps back....without the early tire issue that oculd have been a Cup win that car was THAT fast
I'm speechless but if I had to guess i'd say I guess I don'y know why we were so off at Richmond thus far, but I think as a driver Robby Gordon is a top notch driver. As an owner he is an energetic owner involved in the team deeply. As a sponsorship salesman he is an ever present entity always looking to the future and working hard to make things happen to be there. As a human being I suspect he is a great guy who speaks his mind and should be as well as is respected because of it. However when you are the captain, the navigator, the cook, the engineer, and the first mate, chances are you are sailing alone. I think because Rob is so involved he is sailing alone and perhaps a bit drawn thin due to it. I bet you if Robby Gordon takes time to step back a bit no matter how much he loves to drive and just caught his breath he would be a better driver from it. Work on business for a bit then come back fresh, drive all you can if the other legs of webbing are rolling good but in the end you have no idea how the circus looks if you are in it. Driving a cup car is a huge demand and there is no person on earth doing as much as Rob is at the moment let alone for the last 5 years at least STRAIGHT. Then again I don't know the man personally and am only saying that perhaps there are ways that Rob can be better behind the wheel with a little less of the other stuff on his plate. I guess
Guys, the good news is that I already sent Gene a basket full of Twinkies and hired Dr. Phil to patch up their relationship. YOU'RE WELCOME

In seriousness, it appears to the average "fan" that our crew chief and or driver is incompetent. Us all being Robby fans, we would put the blame solely on poor Miles. Miles is a smart dude, but whether or not he is going to be a successful crew chief is up in the air to me. I don't think he will ever develop the balls to tell the man who is his boss that he is doing something wrong, But before everyone blames Miles or anyone else, we need to know what he has to work with in terms of equipment. Robby and his boys build beautiful cars, and with Penske power there is no excuse to be getting outrun on a week to week basis by every team out there including some S&P's. I love Robby way too much to give up on him, and the way they are selling speed is phenomenal, but I'm at the point where I don't even want to turn the race on anymore cuz it seems like we have 0% chance of being competitive. The Fast 5 deal was pretty awesome, but if this is the best RGM can do with funding imagine how bad its going to be without. With that being said, I still owe Robby and the folks at RGM a huge deal, and in the end tomorrow i'll be pulling for that #7 car to get things straightened out and pass some racecars.
Dude, I don't cheer for Robby because he's a millionaire. I want him racing up front. I don't give a rat's ass how much money Robby has. Why do you always say this? We all know Robby has cash. Who cares? At the end of the day 35th place is still 35th place no matter how you slice it. Joe Nemecheck is a millionaire too - what's your point?
I too, as many of us have, been a fan for many many years of RG. We have all listened to him on the scanner and hear how RG makes alot of the calls, overriding his crew chief. He does it now and he did it when racing for RCR. In my household, we call him LIghtining McQueen. Just like Martinez stated, one cannot run every aspect of the team without it hurting every aspect of the team. You have to delegate and let it run it's course. Let these guys build confidence in themselves. I too do not understand week in and week out how it is the same result in qualifying and in the race. Sponsors do not want to see their car start in the back of the field every race. I pull for him every race as well, but I am like Garrett, I am always reluctant to turn the race on knowing that I have to wait until 30th or later on the ticker to find #7
