Only used 1 set of tires for both practices, by design. Scott's first ever laps in a COT....He scuffed in his Qualifying stickers on his last run in happy hour.
Me thinks run till first gas stop and, see what happens then park it and head home..........
Scott qualified and raced a COT for Morgan McClure at Bristol in 2009. Qualified 26th and finished 29th 4 laps down. He also attempted to qualify a COT for MMM at the fall Dover race, but missed the field. One other one... he attempted to qualify a COT for RCR at Richmond in 2008, but missed the field as well.
GD, COT really, how long has this thing been around now? Its not comparing a f ing volkswagon to a corvette. JC either you can drive a race car or you cant. COT,BUG or Vette.
Sorry to arrive late, but where is Robby this weekend?
Just for conversation, Scott has a strong rep as a test driver.
Very true... He did a lot of COT testing & development for RCR. I know for a fact he was up here numerous times with the team at Milwaukee for test sessions.
That's like a friend of mine, ton of miles in a COT but no starts.Excellent tester.
Last years May Dover race saw 37th place to 43rd place all pay 76 grand and change. 7 Places with no real change in the change (coin). Numbers i'm sure that are looked at when deducing how much risk in data and coin intake there is relative to laps run. 34th place and an extra 100 laps run or so is it worth being involved in these "Dover crashes". I'm no CPA but I know if RGM ran an extra session so to speak after changes are made in the garage i'd be holding my breath a twisted frame does not make it back to the shop in search of "what this change did"?
not this weekend
90ish total laps falls into the formula.
I like that idea Mike. Run enough laps with the starting setup to finish ahead of the S&P teams, then go back to the garage to make a few changes to the car and run 2-3 test sessions. Nothing better than getting paid to test, throw in some advertising time for Speed Energy, both in Dover and in whatever venue Robby is at in Cali. and it sounds like a productive weekend. Always be moving product RG!!
