Nice to see some SPEED definate improvement from earlier, but it does look like most others are all in racetrim running 20-40 laps
The car is fine & RG will have no problem getting in the race.
Yes, since qual order is based on speeds only in 1st practice (not overall from both anymore)...assuming that going out last (i.e. fastest) is an advantage, then the top 35 teams will do their Q efforts in 1st practice to try to nab that 35th qual order position and mostly race trim stuff in 2nd practice.
Most teams did their mock Q runs in first practice. Regardless, Robby goes out 12th in qualifying.
Is there a bet on Speed channel going to commercial when Robby Q's ( if Q isn't rain'd out)
Anyone looking for a 30 lbs oil pan? JGR has three of them available as they wont be racing with them. Hearing it has gone from having an unproved oil pan to an illegal oil pan.
Another week, another fine for that team.
As soon as I saw "oil pan issues" I was thinking they must weigh like 50 lbs each. Anything to get a lower CoG in the car.
Didn't one of the smaller teams get caught doing that not to long ago?

Gotta hand it to Gibbs, they were all in.
Not a new trick, just not caught in awhile.MWR had the 'heavy' radiator air boxs.
Why only 5 laps run in both practices? All the big teams are running 30 to 40. Is Robby that good of the truck that he does'nt need the practice?
They arent locked in...They have to make 2 lap qualifying runs.....takes 20 minutes to cool down motor between mock Q runs....They did exactly what they were supposed to do today....
