that's a really good analysis, zoom. It would be interesting to know the actual dollars involved. Cost to run a full race in Daytona, net income from S&P'ing Kentucky and New Hampshire. That would probably keep RGM in the top 35 for Indy which would be big.
You might only need like two sets of tires for this race! Go for it RG! Just a lot of fuel!
If it means no Dega...I say S&P...but if He can get a great finish and pad his points and race Dega...love to see the audible!
I doubt if they have a car prepped for Daytona. If you are locked in to the field and not planning on running the entire race, you can just about take whatever car is on the hauler as-is. That seems to be what they have been doing lately.
Just a reminder... It cost a lot of money to run these engines at Plate tracks, and now that the team is locked in they don't have to prepare for quals. (I remember Front Row Joe talking about how ridiculously expensive it is to prepare a car for 2 laps of quals at Daytona). Trust me I'd rather have Robby run, i love plate races. But I am not the RGM financial treasurer... yet, lol. So this could be an easy S&P money week for RGM.

Looks like the prize money for the combined entries was over 170K.Not a bad day and have 2 unwrecked cars. I don't know why RGM doesnt field 2 cars more often if they are going to S and P in the future anyway. I would think that the 77 could beat the 60 and the 66 more often than not. Do whatever it takes to keep the doors open.
Agreed & have been saying that for a while. Since the 77 is the backup they're both in the same hauler already. Only need the single crew there and if NASCAR mandates a 2nd crew for the other car, I'm sure some people can be rounded up to stand in the pitbox for the start of the race...

I realize there's some costs involved with that 2nd car, but even making 50% of the races attempted with it will more than cover those expenses. Are entry fees still like $2500 per car for Cup? Wimmer/Sauter ran like 4-5 races with the same car & engine, and that could carry on through the rest of the season to help RGM.
@Brett, I believe pre-entry is 5k, I like the idea,always have.
He is locked in at a race he can compete, Indy is no sure thing, if they sold a little more SPEED in the south it would be a no brainer, but you can't sell SPEED with the race hauler on the way home after you miss quals....Shit in one hand and hope in the other and see which one fills up first....
Great he could have had a top 5 here if it wasn't for tony and now he S&P. This is the frist time I am mad about him S&P I could live with the others.
The 13 should draft will RG, Just hope the audible comes thru. Save your stuff until 20 to go and let loose. I know its all about the dollars. The race is just not the same with out Robby in it.
