This will be the race thread for the 2011 BULLRUN that Robby Gordon will compete in. This year’s rally takes place from July 9th- July 15th, starting in Las Vegas & ending in Miami. Each day will have a different route & the competitors will get their daily route info prior to the start of each day. Stay tuned for more info as it comes in.

On Saturday, July 9 Fremont Street Experience will be the start line for the Bullrun USA 2011 Rally – a new breed of high-end automotive rally that will last for seven days and end in Miami.
Each year up to a 100 exotic cars, driven by celebrities and individuals from around the world, embark on an epic seven-day rolling road-trip for an unforgettable adventure. Bullrunners make their way from one checkpoint to the next, only learning their next destination that day. For more information go to Bullrun.com.
Some of the more notable participants this year are rapper/reality actor Ice-T and his wife Coco, stunt TV show stars The Dudesons, rapper and TV personality Vanilla Ice and NASCAR driver Robby Gordon. Also, Fremont Street Experience President Jeff Victor will be driving car number “80” for the first leg of the rally. This live rally event will be filmed for an eight-episode MTV Networks show that will air this fall.
Performing as part of the Bullrun start hoopla will be New Boyz, a popular hip hop/rap and jerkin’ crew from California nominated for Best Group at the BET Awards in 2010. The short concert and all the festivities are free and open to the public.
WHEN:
Saturday, July 9
3p.m. to 5p.m. – Rogue Status Skate Team to perform throughout the afternoon
4 p.m. – Driver’s briefing at 3rd Street Stage and cars staged on Fremont Street Experience
4:30 p.m. – New Boyz concert begins at 3rd Street Stage
5 p.m. – Drivers “surprise arrival” and parade of cars down Fremont Street Experience from 3rd Street to Main Street to start the rally

This is cool. How many of us would like to have a job where we could take a week off and go run the Bullrun? Yes, Toyo might be involved, and yes, he might sell more Speed. However, Robby stated multiple times that he wanted to do more racing than the grind of the NASCAR schedule. I am, actually, envious of Robby and this is why I am a fan.

You can follow them on the web site, I'm sure they'll have pictures and stuff.
Finally, after several decades, I may watch some MTV again.
