With this being a slow week (still waiting on those Montreal Nationwide peek pics @TOG)...thought I would give my opinion on the UPCOMING EVENTS:

Brickyard 400: With RGM planning to bring 2 cars to Indy, having both in the show would be a huge win for RGM. With last place paying over $130,000 having 2 grabbing nice paydays will help. Indy is a track Robby loves. Robby has an average finish of 25th, with 2 Top 10's. Robby's highest finish is 6th, his lowest was 36th (last year after a blown tire and DNF). His highest finish with RGM is 22nd.

Scott Wimmer: has an average qualifying of 29th. Scott's best start was 22nd and his worst was 34th.

With Pocono sanwiched in bewteen Indy & Watkins Glen and likely to a S&P race. A good finish and points days will go a long way. The #71 and #38 team are both within 12 points or less from catching RGM. Both must qualify their way in and having one, or both, DNQ would ease the pressure.

My prediction, Robby & Brad working together after 2 weeks will have both RGM cars ready. If Robby can stay out of trouble, a solid Top 20 finish is very reachable. Not sure if the speed will be there for Wimmer to make the show, but it will be close 50/50 close...but I think he gets it done.

Pocono: S&P or maybe a little more depending on the points situation...(audible watch)

Montreal: Expect nothing but "ALL OUT" for this race. If Robby can avoid an on track issues and the yellows fall there way...expect Robby to be in it to win it at the end. Always a crazy race...just have to be in it at the end to have a chance. The year has had alot of disappointing finishes, but with MAPEI on the ride and Robby way over due...I think he finally gets that much needed win.

Watkins Glen: I fully expect RGM to have 2 cars again (PJ alert). RGM will insert the Penske powerplant and Robby will be in "All-in!" mode. If Robby can keep the car clean (stay away from the 20), and not get bit by a yellow, he should be in the mix. I'm sure RGM learned alot from Infenion and will make sure they capitalize this time.

Watkins Glen is statistically Robby's best track. He as an average finish of 13th. Last year RG had mechanical trouble and that lowered his average when he finished 36th. In 12 races Robby has 7 Top 5 finishes. If Robby is running at the end, a Top 5 and/or a win will be in reach!

Low Sulfur ?
grain alcohol energy drinks Alan? sign me up! I actually thought diesel should be a non carbonated concentrate in a can that looks like the big chrome side tanks on an old rig. The concentrate would be concord grape, suitable for mixed drinks, or over crushed ice...& theres your segway to that chain of stores those SPEED guys keep pitching to...
I can tell you what ethanol tastes like ( I make the stuff) and it isn't good.. in fact, it'll take your breath away and make your tongue go numb. My guess if its' a new flavor how about "Speed Energy Avalanche - The taste will really move you..." ?
Speed in the Speed car, intresting ring to it. I say get Dick Trickle on the horn and lets see what he can do in the 77
Just wanted to add my .02 on Villenueve. I believe he would bring RGM money based on TV exposure time. So that should be worth something. Granted he is going to abuse the crap out of the car and possibly wreck it, but he definitely brings the exposure to RGM at a place like Watkins Glen that is Robbylike in nature.
You know, I am sure he could find a small associate sponsor for the tire bill and maybe a little extra to help on the engine. You are absolutely right the exposure would be near gauranteed. Almost as good as when Rob put Marcos in the second car, only Mother Nature could ruin that.
maybe alot of help engine lease wise.Penske leases are 100k in round #'s.The purse at the Glen is worse than Laconia. The only way I see the 77 doing a full race is if someone buys it and I don't mean Robby.
Dick says he would love to drive again!
LOL @ watkins glen stay away from the 20. If the 20 and 7 get together again it will be like Kurt Busch vs J.Spencer kick his ass Spencer!
stop dreaming............
But Robert, what would life be like without dreams ?
What I mean by stay away from the 20 was... All it takes is Joey to bump or nudge Robby and big picture will go out the window! It becomes about making a statement and letting others know where you stand. Robby being on "double secret probation" will play a factor on Robby's reaction if Lil' Joey comes around.
