Carl Edwards staying put

Just saw on Twitter where Carl Edwards will stay at Roush. Official announcement coming today. Wonder what JGR's next move is?

Rumors have Bowyer the 2nd choice at JGR. Vickers knows the future of RBR is very unpredictable and Mark Martin will be done with his contract at the end of the year. Mark still wants to race so he will be going somewhere...possibly to RBR or RCR if Bowyer bolts.

Many have said everyone was waiting to see what Carl did first. Just like when Junior & Tony made moves. That was the first piece that had to be established. Be interesting to see what happens with Carl staying put.

Now, JGR & Home Depot have to decide to stick with Joey or go after Clint Bowyer. With Menard's win it creates a two-edged sword. On one side Bowyer might think staying at RCR is best, on the other side Home Depot has been in Lowe's shadow...now Menards. Home Depot is getting restless.

Big sponsors want to get their money's worth. UPS has been a step-child to FedEx, getting a win lately helps but not sure it's enough to stay around. Home Depot has gotten nothing from Joey lately. Home Depot has strong ties with Gibbs, but he knows if results aren't soon he has to do what's best for his organization.

IMO, Bowyer and Home Depot make for a more marketable combination for Average Joe. Logano and Game Stop...I get that, but not Home Depot.

The economy is NOT getting better anytime soon, I predict a 85% chance of another bigger downturn within the next 6 to 12 months (Im in the financial industry)... Having a big sponsor would be job security for a while.

I hear ya... Are rope pulling around here is coming to an end, there getting low on ink... can't just fire up the presses and keep printing more LOL, F@#$ O'bamaCare, hopefully 4 and done- then we can get back to racing. jk i know it's more than that!
