Yes, we all have the right to dream. Some dreams are just stranger than others.
Brad already said he will race. RGM needs to get points for the 7. Not gonna happen...they have Hornish if needed and what better place than Pocono if they needed a relief driver. Sam's best track.
Hmmm, this reminds me of how Robby got his NASCAR career going... injured Mike Skinner. I know, just a pipe dream. haha
I thought Robby jumped in the 28 first ........... one race but still. I got my bowling career going when I was 8.... I sucked but that was the start.
& then the 4.... Robby actually got his NASCAR career going back in '91 in the #90, 10 full years before filling in for the injured Skinner got him his RCR ride.
first was Juney Donlevary in 1991 (Robby was Ford's boy then, contracted to Jack Roush) In 93 subing at Yates for Davey Allison (whom I meet the Friday before he passed) then on to more subsitutes rides mostly in Ford's.
His most notably start could have been DEI's first 'CUP' start as an orginization.
Great Mike's think alike? I almost forgot about the 1 car. Yep, Rob was the first to wheel DEI equipment. Dale really respected RG's abilities. Big reason why I (&RC) started paying attention to him
Well, he did play a bit in the early 90s, but when I say he got his NASCAR career going, I mean his big break came when Skinner got injured, then robby stepped in the 31... then loudon

NASCAR career going, in regards to my post = his first big break that lead to some success
Roger that, but RG will tell you the 90 is when he started his cup carreer,& wishes he'd have gotten started earlier. Blames (or at least did) his limited success on not starting in Cup earlier. Like you said tho, big break came at Skinners expense
So here is the question I have never heard answered. What did Robby do to the "Rat in the Hat"? (Or vice-versa). Was there some kind of dust up? Did he catch Robby hittin' it with the daughter? If he ran IMSA, etc. for Roush, I would have thought that would be a no-brainer to bring him to NASCAR.
he took an Indycar deal. He could have driven for Jack in Cup, but he wanted to drive Indycars at the time.
That would have been back in the early M. Martin Valvoline days, correct? Roush had Martin and the dud 2nd Keystone Beer car.
