They never had big sponsorship dollars. Robby always got more out of his equipment thats why he was competitive in those times...it was more about driver than car before the cot. If you dont have big $$ to engineer the car you dont finish in the front of the field, bottom line.
Here are a sequence of pics showing how close RG got to being taken out....http://photos.speedtv.com/gallery/CUP_Watkins_Glen_Last_Lap_Wreck_0811
wow...amazing how just a few car lengths here or there could have destroyed a brand new car.
He always finds a way to get that sponsor on tv
that was three hits that could just as easily taken Robby out.Nice find Missy7.
Watching that video on the main page I couldn't believe he made it out of there in one piece.
Wow, thanks Missy7. We were at the other end of the track and didn't see the wreck. Wow! It was a fun day at the race, would have loved to see Robby win though. But we did get to see him at the trailer, bought stuff and got stuff signed. We also got to watch his interview at the Sprint spot. His favorite track is Baja! and his vacation is being in the car! And then heard him on a radio interview on Friday! All in all, a great race weekend, even with the rain delay. Plus, chat is wonderful to pop in and out of during the race for extra info! Oh, and met Shop Goddess!
On to Montreal!
x4......
So true. Let's get it done. Hang a third Nationwide Series Winner banner in that shop.
If Robby wasn't hungry to go for it all and win in Montreal this weekend then he wouldn't be going at all right? I know he is always hungry to win but this is N'Wide TOG said a couple months ago that it's win or bust again at montreal or something like that lol. Being a canuck and all it would be priceless to see him win at Montreal. I would have said the whole track name if I knew any French but I don't. I can't wait until the race. Go Robby!!!!! You are still the man.
Well he isn't going for the NNS prize money. Hopefully you Nucks don't riot after the Canadian drivers don't win.
